Possible Round 8 Team

All 3 you just mentioned Ghib need to be in the team.

When fully fit we have the best set of Backline players in the NRL IMO

Yow Yeh is a perfect finisher with football brains, Kemp is good but isn't as good as Yow Yeh or Winterstien!

Exactly what I was going to say. In Yow Yeh's time in the NYC, QCup and NRL over the last year or two, he has shown plenty and even though hasn't notched up a season like Kemp had in 2008 (which seems a distant memory now TBH) to me everything suggests that he is a better winger than Kemp.

IMO Kemp and Winterstein are about level, but you can't drop Winterstein after his start to the season.

Winterstein should be in the centres. I think it's unlikely we will see Hodges back this year so he should be playing left centre.

2. Yow Yeh
3. Folau
4. Winterstein
5. Kemp

I personally don't think there is much if anything between any of our wingers. All are solid can find the line very well. Also Yow Yeh having a football brain not sure how he grew one of those?? Only way we can get all three in the side is Winter moving to fullback or Norman not being in form and putting one at fullback IMO. Pick whoever is in form IMO.

I agree with Yow Yeh, he is the type of guy that can win a game for you. I do think that Kemp is a quality player but like some people have mentioned i havent seen anything from him this year to rave about, though he hasnt had much of a chance. If Norman is stugling i would love to see Kemp get a chance at fullback. Who remembers Kemp's try against the Roosters in the finals in 08?? He is sooooooooo good in broken play and i think he would deserve a go!! But only if Norman is struggling!!!
1. Norman/Kemp
2. Yow Yeh
3. Folau Sorry izzy, back to the left side as Hodges is unstoppable at right centre
4. Hodges
5. Winerstein
By the way i am laughing at the Tab odds for the premiership!!! Why when the eels and dogs have no major injuries and they have both lost 3 like us are they still paying $8-$13 to win the comp. We are currently paying $51 to win. I hate to say this but i cant see us beating the Dragons this week now that Teo and Winerstein have been dropped so im guessing we will blow out to $60-$70 depending on the score. First thing im going to do then is go and put a shit load on the Bronc's to win the flag!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Nothing from Kemp to rave about?

he gave us a "OMFG" moment in round 1. Locky/Kemp combo is an awesome combo and one we do need on the park.

Winter/Kemp/Yow all need to be on the field

Hoffman should be our fullback. He is quality!! I think Norman is good but not quite up to first grade. We need someone stronger back there.

If Hoffman isn't good enough to play fullback in the QLD Cup, what makes you think he is good enough to play there in the NRL?

Hoffman is good enough to play fullback, but the coach has played him the centres for the Dolphins to improve his tackling.
It's kinda strange though, you don't make too many tackles at fullback. And the great Lockyer was never the best tackler at fullback or 5/8.
IMO Norman should've played in the centres instead of Beale with Hoffman at fullback at the start of the season.
Hoffman reminds me of a young lanky Hodges.

Lol it seems a distant memory with people with short memories!

Kemp was in the top 3 wingers in 2008, the amount of speed and skill he showed in 2008 was incredible and everyone was spewing when he left.

Yow Yeh has played like 15 games, 6-7 of them which were pretty good towards the end of last season.

We're in 2010, not 2008.

Good thread. Puts things into a bit of perspective.

I think Kemp will have to spend at least a few weeks in the QCup when he is available. Winterstein's early season form has been very good and if Yow Yeh is fit he just comes straight back in IMO. Winterstein is just a winger IMO. I threw up the idea of playing him in the centres before the season started but I don't think it would work. Norman's form is good enough for him to retain his position. And like you said MW, Folau and Parker go straight back in.

1. Norman
2. Winterstein
3. Beale
4. Folau
5. Yow Yeh
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Anderson
11. Parker
12. Thaiday
13. Gillett
-----------------------
14. Glenn
15. Te'o
16. Sims
17. McGuire/Setu/Dodds

Looks a lot better doesn't it. When Hodges comes back he takes Beale's spot, and if we get Tronc it looks even better.

I love your side however i would have to consider Kemp or Yow Yeh being pushed into the #3 instead of Beale. massive risk indeed but as much as Yow yeh offers Kemp is needed for the simple fact it appears sometimes he can just read Lockys mind and know when to dart.

I agree with Kemp. We are missing him at the moment. I remembered a few times last game where I was thinking that if Kemp was on that wing it would've been a try.

And??? It was only 13 games away! 2008 might sound like a long time ago but it wasn't - it was only 13 games ago! He played 10 games last year FFS. Are people are seriously taking into consideration his form at the Warriors?? His form over there should be whiped off his record as far as I'm concerned. He did SFA because the Warriors put him in and out of the team and had no idea how to play football for starters. He was unsettled there, he obviously had a few problems with Clearly too. The Warriors were a mess and Kemp found himself out of favour. He came back to Brisbane in round 1 and pick up from where he left off in 2008.

His form this year has been fine, round 1 he was great, round 2 iffy like the WHOLE team and round 3 he was injured for most.

Kemp has had a whole YEAR to prove himself as a quality and consistant first grader. He did that in 2008.[/quote:1200o3ql]

Why should we wipe his year at the Warriors off the radar? He performed like a busted, then got dropped and Kevin Locke came into the team and performed very well in an ordinary team. Kemp was unable to do that. Yeh he may have had issues but you can't just wipe the form clear, or more to the point, you can't pick someone on 2008 form rather than 2009 form, IMO.

Did you watch Yow Yeh in the lower grades at all? It's been clear for a long time that he is potentially a very special winger and he isn't just a finisher he is a real thinker, if you know what I mean. It took Kemp 3 or 4 years to even find good form and get himself into a Broncos jersey, and even after that it took him until 2008 to find that good form. People looked at him and thought he "could" be a good winger. People looked at Yow Yeh through the Under 20's and the Q-Cup and were certain that he will be a good winger. And he has proven himself at NRL level and was one of the best in the All-Stars game (despite that being only an exhibition match I admit).

Look I am a Yow Yeh fan but I don't understand what makes Yow Yeh a real thinker?? If this is the case maybe Yow Yeh at fullback is the best option for the Broncos.

Decisions in attack, decisions in defence etc.... It's not that hard is it???
