There is a lot of negativity going around the forums at the moment, which is understandable given how the team has been going at the moment. However, we have a massive injury toll and it is affecting the way that we are playing. A lot of our injured posse are expected back in Round 8 so we should look forward to possibilities of what our near full-strength side might look like.

Players likely to return:
Parker
Folau (Possibly Round 7)
Yow Yeh
Kemp (Could be round 9 or 10)

If all those players return there is a lot of thinking to do regarding the make up of the side. Obviously Parker and Falou will slot straight back into their respective positions, but if both Yow Yeh and Kemp are available it throws up some interesting questions.

Does Norman retain his position at Fullback with either of Kemp, Yow Yeh or Falou possibly playing in that position?
If Norman holds his spot, who partners Falou in the centres and who are the wingers?

Lots to think about.

Here's what I'd like to see happen:
1. Norman
2. Yow Yeh
3. Winterstein
4. Falou
5. Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Anderson/Tronc
11. Te'o
12. Thaiday
13. Parker
14. Glenn
15. Gillett
16. Sims
17. McGuire/Anderson

Later in the season when Hodges returns if we are injury free would see Norman make way and either Hodges, Kemp or Yow Yeh take fullback.

Food for though at least.

That would the team I would pick if all players were available. That side would finish in the top 8 IMO we just need to get more out of the players we have for a month or so...

Good thread. Puts things into a bit of perspective.

I think Kemp will have to spend at least a few weeks in the QCup when he is available. Winterstein's early season form has been very good and if Yow Yeh is fit he just comes straight back in IMO. Winterstein is just a winger IMO. I threw up the idea of playing him in the centres before the season started but I don't think it would work. Norman's form is good enough for him to retain his position. And like you said MW, Folau and Parker go straight back in.

1. Norman
2. Winterstein
3. Beale
4. Folau
5. Yow Yeh
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Anderson
11. Parker
12. Thaiday
13. Gillett
-----------------------
14. Glenn
15. Te'o
16. Sims
17. McGuire/Setu/Dodds

Looks a lot better doesn't it. When Hodges comes back he takes Beale's spot, and if we get Tronc it looks even better.

Kemp will struggle to get back in the team if Yow Yeh is back before him. We really do have 3 guns wingers IMO. Good depth IMO. I'd be willling to give Winter a crack in the centres if he thinks he is up to it before Hodges gets back.

I love your side however i would have to consider Kemp or Yow Yeh being pushed into the #3 instead of Beale. massive risk indeed but as much as Yow yeh offers Kemp is needed for the simple fact it appears sometimes he can just read Lockys mind and know when to dart.

I haven't been impressed by Glenn tbh. That's why he's not in.

how in gods name do you guys keep putting lagi setu into your sides, he would be one of the worst players to wear a bronco jersey......

he would want to do it quickly, makes far too many silly decisions in defense, so one should tell him to use his arms when he tackles, works better that way.

I reckon Winterstein could be a goer in the centres. He used to play centre, and has bulked up in the off-season.

Mister Wright's backline is what i'd go with, maybe switch Kemp and Yow Yeh over.

That said, Norman is going to have up his game over the next few weeks. Needs to get more involved.

What is everyone's obsession with Yow Yeh? Jeb, why do you say that Kemp will have to spend a few weeks in Q Cup when he returns? Are you suggesting Yow Yeh is automatically a better option?

Did you watch our run home last season? Yow Yeh was one of our best and most consistent, and was one of the best on the field in the All-Stars game. I have no doubt he is the best winger at the club at the moment (apart from Folau who is in the centres anyway).

Have you been really impressed by Kemp's 3 performances this season? His performance in round 1 was good, round 2 a shocker, round 3 cannot really judge that one as he got injured. But has he really shown enough to be selected in front of Yow Yeh who showed 7-8 weeks of very good form at the end of last season?

Exactly.

Yow Yeh is set for big things IMO.

1. Norman
2. Yow Yeh
3. Winterstein
4. Folau
5. Kemp
6. Lockyer
7. Wallace
8. Kenny
9. McCullough
10. Tronc
11. Thaiday
12. Parker
13. Gillett

14. Glenn
15. Te'o
16. Anderson
17. McGuire/Sims/Hala

That's a nice looking team right there. Lets hope it's something similar once the injuries piss off.

Yow Yeh is a perfect finisher with football brains, Kemp is good but isn't as good as Yow Yeh or Winterstien!
