POST GAME [PREMIERS, 2025] Broncos vs Storm

oh yeah, hes a gunslinger, thats what i love about him, hes also got a really quick release with alot of power, i think thats where some of the mistakes come from, hell get better with it
IMO the best ball he gave all night was the one that was called forward to Karapani. Last tackle, nothing doing, slightly falling, players in the way. Hits Karapani perfectly at speed and in space.

Was possibly slightly forward but I've seen those not called.

I cant believe he managed to get that pass up and over Warbrick.

He must've been in supreme form for that game to throw that pass and for it to be perfect.

It was like a perfect chip shot in golf

Yeah, he was calm, he was safe, he was a leader, he played a ton of games by the time he retired.

But he never did what Walsh just did.
Walsh has a level of brilliance unmatched by anyone. But these are moments in games, not 80 minutes. Locky would play for 80 in a way Walsh can't. They are very different players, at least right now.

In terms of being the complete 80 minute player, Walsh isn't close to Locky.

Would love to see our defense be at 2023 level next year or better. Particularly on line speed. I want us to be the club that only concedes 35m a set.
If Penrith are anything to go by, the key will be Staggs, Shiba, Mariner and Karapani continuing to carve up on kick returns. The more rest for the forwards, the fresher they will be in defence.

Locky was definitely okay, but Reece has leapfrogged him. A lot of folk are still in denial about it, but they'll come around.

Just a reminder that 20minutes into the second half of round 24 we were running 9th. This weekend I am going to watch every game from the Melbourne injury game back-to-back.

What a rollercoaster. Not sure it will ever sink in but I am sleeping like a ****ing lamb.

Brother, when are we going to see a pic of your new tattoo?

Getting it at christmas time. Will be doing extra bulgarian and hack squats over the next few months to make sure the arse is extra jacked for when I drop the arse shot on BHQ

I have to ask, what does your partner think about you having another guys name on your bum?

He's known me for yonks so is aware that I'm a complete ****wit in general so this is just standard shenanigans from me really

His reaction was about the same as finding a fork in a kitchen haha

The micro on the final try by Shiba was insane. Both Walsh and Shiba got into position on the left after making the break/supporting the previous play. Shiba catches the pass in front and puts doubt into Warbrick to stay on Karapani. He then transfers the ball to his left to fend Meaney, before putting it in his right to keep it away from Warbrick before he fully even broke the Meaney tackle, to then slam it down

Papi was also right there to attempt a tackle but chickened out

If you check paps during one of mariner's try too he sort of slaps at him. It was not even an arms tackle. I think he's checked out for 360 already and wants to stay fit and healthy for the big pay cheque.

Serves melbourne right, I mean they did shop him around at one point. I mean way to make your FB feel wanted or what?

Papi has commitment issues, its a GF, your body goes on the line and he pulled out or half arsed it many times. Our first try he just laid a lazy arm out, went too high on Walsh and exposed him to the fend (even in slow mo you can see Walshy look down at him and think WTF was that), no where to be seen on the 1st Shiba try, and again no where in the Mariner try, didn't even lay a hand on Shiba's second try and he was RIGHT THERE, and at the end all ne needed to be was about another metre wider and I don't think Walsh gets him. 0/10

I think Reece has a higher ceiling, but don't let recency bias impact the fact that Locky should be the next Immortal. He's not a great board member, investor, and many other things - but in footy, there were few better.

If Reece can produce what he did in this Final Series, not all the time, but in clutch games like he did this year, he'll be one of the greats for sure.

Unfortunately, flash in the pan brilliance can be quickly forgotten, hence why Immortals are often named many years after they retire.

In my mind, he's already better than Billy Slater with the only caveat being longevity. If he can keep his form up for a few seasons, he'll have conquered him and Billy was the best fullback I've ever seen in 30+ years of watching League.

Locky, was a great fullback, a great five-eighth. An excellent leader of men and had the ability to pull rabbits out of hats just when we needed him to. His game vision was unparalleled in his time and has probably only been equaled by C Smith and Johns.

Reece has far more raw talent than both Smith and Locky combined, but his ability to deliver in clutch moments, until very recently has been missing. The try he scored in the grand final, where he threw the 5th tackle play out of the window because he saw something, re-positioned and demanded the ball. THAT was Darren Lockyer. What Darren Lockyer maybe lacked though, was the bullshit freak ability to cut through the middle of their team and score.
