POST GAME [PREMIERS, 2025] Broncos vs Storm

bullshit freak ability is what I call it to. I don't think anybody else in the league could score that try.
What made that try so freakishly good, was it wasn't just speed, it wasn't just stepping through traffic, it wasn't just brute force nor was it spotting an opportunity in a split second. It was all those things and more.

The way he positioned his hips and footwork to be able to beat defenders and then accelerate again, the fend on Paps, the ducking under tackles, all at ****ing Mach 1. It was utterly insane.

To step through at least 5 Melbourne Storm defenders in a GF and score under the posts , like to see the odds on that.

Anybody seen any breakdown of the GF by Cooper Cronk ?

I'm keen to see what hehas to say after death riding us for the whole finals series 🤔

I too would be interested in this. I've been keeping an eye on my feed etc but he appears to have gone underground.

I was actually really disappointed that they didn't do one more Matty and Cooper show on Fox. I wonder if they had one planned but when things didn't go how he wanted, he pulled the pin.

I'd like to see how much closer that moved Bellyache to retirement too lol. That play alone would have made him table flip in the old days.
I dont know if the broadcast wasn't showing it, but I dont recall a blow up from Bellamy happening during the game.

At least I dont recall one late in the game when he was watching the broncos run over the top of them and his team unable to complete a set

Weird (or petty?) to bring up now but I am watching the replay - Kartoa’s put down for his try was not clean. He put it down with his forearm?

Is that a try? I’m confused on the rules of grounding - they’ve chopped and changed “separation” to “control” and I don’t know what the go is anymore.

My mistake - side of his hand puts it down. I’m still unsure though of what the rules are for grounding.

This Grand Final win has been an incredible lesson in loyalty.

Patty, Payne, Kotoni and Jordan were all here for the wooden spoon.
They were all here for the Seibold disaster and loss after loss they stayed loyal to the Broncos, and this year has paid them back with a GF premiership ring.

All of them could have left for a more likely Premiership team.
All of them could have left for more money.
But they chose loyalty.

Xavier Coates bailed on us after the spoon, for less money to go to our arch rivals.
He has now lost two Grand Finals with the latest loss at the hands of the club that gave him his shot at first grade.
Xavier came out just weeks before confirming he was going to the Storm to tell any an all who would listen that he wanted to be a Bronco for life and wasn't going anywhere.

This could not have played out any more beautifully for us.

David Fifita is another one.
He chose money over loyalty and look where he has gone.

About the only guy that i think wanted to stay but had to move on was Dearden.

At the end of the day, those that stayed loyal through our hardest times have been rewarded with the greatest honor the game has on offer.
Those that didn't are reaping what they sowed.

Downward pressure with the arms/torso or hands is fine.

The real question that they moved past VERY quickly was if it touched any of his arm / hand while it was in the air. If you touch it before contact with the ground and it separates at all, you need to gain control.
Else, you basically need to dive on a ball and have it not separate from your arm/hand during the grounding.

If he tapped it with his hand, then came away, with downward pressure applied by his arm, that's a knock on. But there were no good slow-mo replies that I saw.

It also just dawned on me that headgear Riki played the full 80 minutes.

Somebody in the know please put up his stats. I think he deserves a bit of credit for his turn around in form.
Headgear Riki made the match winning play mate, what are you talking about? Headgear Riki has been PEAK.

It's when he takes the damn thing off he turns into a blundering idiot lol

I can't find the interview now. but Dobbo was saying when all those wooden spoons were thrown at the club, Patty grabbed one & kept it, as a reminder.

Dobbo said when they won the GF, he asked Patty, will you get rid of the spoon & Patty replied, no it's a reminder what can happen (or words similar)
