That's exactly right. Unfortunately the majority of the people that want a second team in brisbane ignore the like you have started, they also ignore how bloody close the Gold Coast and brisbane are, meaning in some ways there's already 2 teams in this area.

In brisbane want it solely because they have this fantasy that the broncos fans will leave, the players will jump ship and we will fold and all the jaded haters will finally be happy

But is there really enough people to support a second club? I know there are many many people that hate the broncos that love in brisbane, so you have to ask why they haven't jumped on the titans? Truth is they probably have but even when they have been doing well they get piss poor crowds. I honestly can't see how another brisbane team would work. Furthermore I can't really see how any additional teams could currently work. IMO there isn't enough talent to spread far enough. You look outside of each teams top 25 and the standard drops dramatically (in some cases within the 25, the broncos included).

Stop NSW clubs from filling the void in their own badly decrepit RL talent stocks with QLD players and we could have 5-6 QLD teams running around.

Queensland league followers that don't follow our magnificent club cheer for the Cowboys or the Titans. I think Brisbane could sustain 2 teams as there is a large amount of Rugby League juniors in the SEQ area and Brisbane has a population of around 1.5 million (I think) and growing. The Gold Coast easily has a team and has a population of around 700,000 i'm pretty sure.

Gold Coast has always been a black hole for teams across all sports for some reason.

Crushers started ok but crowds dwindled with the SL war as they did for most teams but they showed it could be done though they'd need to start with a decent squad, Crushers were adopted by many NSWmen up here as their second team, as would another Brisbane team, I went to most of their games yet the only Broncos ones I've attended were when they played the Raiders.

Edit: Brisbanes population in 2011 was 2.147 million and growing.

The head honcho of rugby league denied outright that there has been any discussion about a relocation for Cronulla. As he said it is a load of speculation due to an assumed or possible fine which may place strain on Cronullas finances. In other words its a beat up .

I wouldn't mind a second Brisbane side. I would then have two chances to get a side in the finals although I wouldn't change allegiances. I think there would be enough support for an honest team unlike the lying scumbags, the Crushers. A good team built on integrity laden with locals would garner support and give rugby league fans an alternative worthy of support. There's room for two in Brisbane and it would not detract from the Broncos although it would give them competition for players,support and crowds. I see that as healthy as it would keep the Broncos on their toes and who could argue that Brisbane as a team have grown fat and lazy just like Thaiday.

Gold Coast is an hour away, may as well call it 2 in Brisbane already... 3 within one hour of each other is too much, focus elsewhere like Perth.

Why water down the Broncos fan base when there are other cities without teams that could build their own fanbase?

A second Brisbane team isn't introducing 30,000(attendance) new fans to the game, it's just splitting the 30,000 here already across two teams. Why not take the chance in getting 30,000 new fans in Perth instead and build on the fanbase of the sport across the country.
