Antonio Kaufusi - I thought he was set to become an absolute gun. I reckon he was the best prop in the game when he made his Origin debut in 07' and I was excited that he could be a weapon off the bench for QLD for years to come. He did his knee in that game and never came close to his pre-injury form again.

What's the story on that 2014 Cronulla game?

Simon Dwyer - loved watching how hard he hit, Tonie Carroll like but still and will never be out of pain or be able to use his arm ever again. Very sad end to a very promising career.

What eventuated with his case against the NRL?

I loved big Dave. I always have a soft spot for the fringe guys, but he really excited me as we we really short on big boys. We had Hannant, Dodds and Moose, but the likes of Anderpson, Dunamis Lui, Tasi and Kennedy as our next drops props.

behind them only promising kids in Timu, Joe O and Molo. Hala looked the part and had all the makings of a (good) cult player. Sadly it just never came together. It’d be interesting to see his career outside of that dark period and anywhere else other than the Titans where he last played first grade.

along with the already mentioned highlights, the other one was I think in his last year for us in a critical match, we tried the bulldoze play with him (and why wouldn’t you) which any other time would’ve been a try but he mis-aligned his run and just about killed Corey Parker in the back instead of running to the right of him back past the ruck

I remember that, I was there. I remember saying to my friends to watch this guy, he could be something special. Next minute he is sitting on the ground and no one knew what the problem was from the stands. Seemed to hardly react and that was it, career done right there.

Good question, I don't know. I know Rob Horne, the ex-Wallaby got the same injury a few years later and England Rugby Union put on a testimonial to raise funds for him. Side point I know.

Fun fact, ABC ran a headline that Dwyer had been cleared of serious injury...well, that became very awkward.

I wonder what Wayne was like as a player. Played for Australia. Fullback I believe.
