NEWS Reece Walsh sells his soul to Warriors. No big deal.

Good job he got caught. Maybe he will clean up his act instead of not being caught and prolonging his substance abuse
My thoughts as well. Might be a well times wake up call.

or maybe he should have followed that direction.

if he did then he wouldn't have been arrested and then charged for drug possession
Why the hell would he do that!
That is the logical thing to do.

I've been worried about his development as soon as he went to the Warriors, Nathan Brown isn't known as the kind of coach who has the development caper finely tuned.

He basically threw Reece Walsh into the fullback spot the first week he arrived at the club and hasn't been moved around ever since, he probably feels like he can do no wrong. His form went to shit once RTS went to Rugby and now this.

Probably a career decision Reece Walsh may regret in years to come, Kevvie may not have got the team into the finals but you can't question the way he is developing some of the kids in the squad.

remember when Joey got caught with ecstasy in England (i think it was) ... and the entire media were kissing his ass for the "courage" he showed by coming clean about his drug use through his entire career ... lol

Reece Walsh, next immortal. Lock it in.

One of the worst parts about that whole thing IMO. The "brave and courageous" interview with Gus making him sound like some kind of hero.

Isn’t the nrl meant to be ASADA compliant? How can a player get caught with drugs and admit to taking it and not face a sanction (ban?) from asada?

ASADA probably can't do anything unless it was found in his system. Possession itself probably means nothing to them.

He may not have used it yet, or the police don't test if it's not like a "driving under the influence" offence, or the testing standards are different by the police and not admissable by ASADA, or his solicitors were able to keep it quiet enough for ASADA to not know until it was out of his system.

He admitted to using it earlier in the night

ASADA, the NRL, his club, the police, his parents ... take your pick
None of the first 4 will do anything other than give him a fine, and I don't know his parents. What did they tell you?

Got done with some coke? If it's not performance enhancing, who cares.
Sponsors? The fact he is a role model to kids?
Heroin isn't performance enhancing, maybe they should all do smack as well because you know, "who cares".
Honestly, think before typing.

If you are not in the public eye, and you decide to hit the booger sugar, thats one thing, but when you represent a sport publicly, and set examples for kids, probably a good idea to steer clear of that sort of thing.

What's the rules on drugs? 2nd offence is automatic 6 week ban but first offence is nothing?

The rules are around testing, Walsh wasn’t tested so ASADA won’t be involved.

Not game day testing you get three strikes. First one only the club doctor and CEO know and you get help, second 12 weeks and third you’re out.

Game day used to be 2-4 years but if you can prove it wasn’t performance enhancing as of this year ASADA are lenient. Nadan got a month because he proved it was the night before not game day.

19 years old and dumb. Letting off steam the wrong way but who hasn't. If there is problem at least it is early and he can get some help, otherwise he has got a lesson in life. He will hopefully understand as soon as all this success can start it can be taken away with stupid decisions.

Plenty of people haven't.

He should've taken some tips from this guy when he was delivering the apology.
