Then we have another Origin to contend with where we'll lose Cobbo this time for sure, and he never comes back in better shape. We still have another 4 matches without Reynolds, who we can't expect to hit the ground sprinting on return.

At least we know we can trounce the Storm in our final game. That should bump up our differential.

I was so confident in us at the start of the year. That belief was still there after a tough start to the season. It’s all but gone now. Nothing is going right and none of our players are performing to the required level. Our squad balance is dreadful and none of our players have any utility value at all.

With a full strength side come the finals (unlikely given our luck this year) I'd be confident that we could beat any other team in the bottom half of the eight. If we then get a team like the sharks in week 2 then I'd be confident that we could make the prelim and anything can happen from there.

Need to actually win regular season games for this hypothetical to occur, however.

13 wins is what they're thinking... so that would be 6 more wins from the last 9 games.

But 12 wins could sneak in as well given how congested the middle of the table is.

Top 4 is now two wins clear of 5th so that's almost set ... especially given how weak as piss Sharks draw is to finish the year. Rorters also have a weak draw to finish the year.

The question will be who drops out.

I think Cows are pretty well safe unless they fall off a cliff.

Dogs also look safe with their strong defence and home ground results.

Dolphins could be vulnerable after losing JMK... and at some point they might actually have to play some tough teams.

Dragons could also be vulnerable... just because how the **** are they so high on the table.

We get to play both those sides on the run home so there is a chance to take points off them.
