Thank you for the response . Starting from the last I'll assume you meant that anything less than the win in the GF is considered unacceptable. As you say, getting into the semis achieves nothing. I would argue that without having made the semi a GF appearance is highly unlikely. We have made the semis 3 times in the past 5 years and of course without a GF win, the only thing that counts ! Call me presumptuous but according to your belief as stated " I don't want to just make it to the semi finals,I want to win " all teams who fail to win in the semis are therefore losers. To finish first, first you must finish.
To my way of thinking we were already getting over the first hurdle, namely making the semis. I accept we may have needed more help to take the next step to GF glory but removing Bennett was counterproductive . No sane person could argue we have improved since his removal. He was removed in order for us to improve, it could hardly be for the opposite reason now could it ? So, on that simple scale it has been a monumental failure, a complete and utter catastrophe with our club in a serious state of disarray .
Whatever game plan WB has it must be better than ours, his team belted us on our home ground when we had it all to play for ! If WBs is so outdated why is it delivering semi final football for less glamorous clubs ?
