61 players have gone down due to injury, suspension, disciplinary issues or resting..

61.

Kind of shows just how many coaches take this seriously.

NRL need to just scrap all of it.

NRL don't need to scrap it, they need to get this shit out of the main season. Coaches aren't going to give a rats about it while they risk serious injury to a player not even playing for his club. They're paying his wage.

SKD out.

Takairangi in.

Going back a few decades here, but the representative season used to be a lot longer than it currently is. Straight after the Origin season, Australia would typically have a series against Great Britain or New Zealand that would last a good month or so (including matches against PNG or a local NZ team). Despite being more ardious, the best of the best would play in those games with little question.

That all changed around the early to mid-90s when players started receiving bigger contracts from their clubs. Now the clubs have way too much at stake and the international game suffers because of it. I'm not sure how you can get away with it in the modern game. Maybe if you included 4 new teams in the domestic competition it could make the difference? If you cut the competition down to 20 rounds, you'd just about make up the difference in total number of games.

Unfortunately the timing of this Test match couldn't have been worse. Not only did the Eels drama hit at the worst time, the Warriors have been absymal so nobody takes them seriously. On top of that, there was the Radradra controversy which in the grand scheme of things isn't that controversial, at least compared to other international codes but I think it hurt the perception of Australia among their fanbase. Australian fans have tall poppy syndrome/like to support the underdog and that's difficult to do when Australia is so dominant and will stoop to any move to win games.

Not the best ball from Kodi.

Kiwis winning the ruck so far.

Kodi playing in the halves?

Surely that has to be a penalty try?

If Aussie Semi isn't sitting down for ten they are kidding themselves.

Good call by the ref no penalty try but it was a professional foul by Semi and he deserved to go to the bin

Nice one Semi.

Piss off and play for Fiji.

That's gotta be some kind of record.

So it is amazing how Semi was so must have, what a great move.

At least the refs got the binning right
