Make Mam earn his spot. Gamble and Kelly haven't been terrible for us comparatively, they deserve first crack until Mam makes it impossible to decide otherwise.

Absolutely, they do deserve first crack, I hope they get it and I hope they carve up.

Personally I would rather see Mam get a season at least in QLD Cup and learn how to play the game against men.

Just with Reynolds I feel like Albert Kelly would be the better partner for him in the halves but Tyson Gamble is such an intense competitor, you don't always have to be putting blokes away under the posts to get your spot in the team in the halves. He brings so much to the team, most of it isn't what you would be looking for from your starting 5/8 but I can't say we don't need it either, I love his aggression.

I don't see an issue with starting Mam, he's young but is pretty robust. The more time with Reynolds the better and being first grade will help him grow. Maybe as a 14 to begin with but if he is our future he needs games under his belt.

He's a lot more physically developed than most of our rookies but the mental side is just as important. I think he would benefit from another season in qcup.

Perhaps, but at least we’re not paying them ridiculous overs, so we win. Again.

you can take Matterson off that list ... he was with us long before the Titans even existed

Actually, in a lot of cases we and others are/were paying the dragons to have them. Not sure I’d count that ad a victory.

You’re right.

I would add though, I feel the club has been vindicated in its decision to chip in to get them (Bird, Macca and McGuire isn’t it?) off our books. Bird in particular was simply a poisoned chalice to us.

Outside of the Dragons, I’d also find it hard to say we haven’t done the right thing in offloading Lodge, TPJ etc. Could just be a coincidence, but we look better since they left with a less credentialed and lesser (on paper anyway) team.

We would not be paying anything of McGuire or Macca for that matter I don't believe.

Oops, looks like I misread your post, my apologies.

Because we have been starved of success for the past 3 or 4 years I think if Billy boy puts in back to back games where he produces some really solid efforts he'll be warmly embraced by BHQ regardless of who our coach is.

All we want to see is players putting in, an end to dumb footy and cheap penalties, resulting in our club beginning to resemble the club/team pre-Pies days.
