Any tips for the other side of the pay wall?
fence peek GIF by Wimbledon

pretty sure theroar.com.au isn't a paywall site

Reynolds is the 2nd best 7 in the competition, think about it this way if he was a Qlder he would be the 7 every year after Thurston retired, say what you want but given our position what a fucking signing.

Capewell another excellent signing, Qlds best backrower.

I'll add to this:

Say 1 = barely ISC, 2 = Average ISC, 3 = Elite ISC/Basic First grader, 4 = Lower Rep level(just gets into state of origin level not more) 5 = Picked in any Rep team

1. Niu 2.5(high potential but I doubt would be playing first grade for a better team at this point)
2. Oates 3
3. Staggs 4
4. Lee 3(hoping for this, hasn't played **** all in 2021).
5. Farnworth 4(should be another level at Wing, alot of size and alot of speed)
6. Gamble 2.75(was very good in ISC, really good against lower half teams in NRL)
7. Reynolds 4.75(is Nathan Cleary away from playing 7 for Australia, better then
Cherry Evans but is hurt reputation wise by not playing origin).
8. Carrigan 3(hopefully he does a Lodge and steps it up after his injury very close to rep level in 2020 pulling close to Haas Numbers)
9. Turpin 2.5(serviceable but serious doubts on ability at this point)
10. Haas 5
11. Capewell 5(with Cordner out probably 1st pick for 2nd row for Kangaroos)
12. Robati 3(could go into next year borderline 4, I expect a bench role for QLD next season)
13. Hetherington 3

14. Paix 2.5(not rating higher then Turpin because hasn't been put into the same firing line as him)
15. Flegler 2.75(Not Origin Level what so ever and got the rep purely on injures and lack of depth on qld part, still young most first grade props don't hit peak till after mid 20s)
16. Kennedy 2.75(more consistent then flegs but I see less potential he is in his late 20s needs a big year in 2022)
17. Bullemor 3(Should be starting already, as proven in pre season stats at start of season is our fittest and strongest player, completely underused by Kevvie must of did something personal to him to not be picked as I don't understand).
18. Kelly 3 (has alot of skills in half but his role is covered by Reynolds as he is more of a playmaker then a instinct half like a normal 6 so unsure of role here).

1. Cobbo
2. Oates
3. Staggs

Beautiful list and we are finally starting to see a little bit of depth forming.

I think ‘22 is another year of rebalancing the cap and doing the best you can with what’s available. That team will hopefully sit around the 8-10th mark if they keep improving over the offseason with far more flexibility with our cap in ‘23.

Looking at I think you’d really push for a hooker and 5/8th. Maybe a guy like Manu who can cover 1 or 6.

2023 is a huge year for off contract 9s:
- Grant
- B Smith
- Hodgson
- Mahoney
- Api
- the Brayleys
- Starlings

Youd be happy with any of them especially Grant, Smith, Api, or Mahoony. Though the young fella coming through may make it irrelevant 1 or you try to get an aging Hodgson for cheap to mentor him for 2 seasons.

We will be top 8 easy. 4-8 is pretty realistic considering how trash the teams making the 8 are.

Add Reynolds and Capewell into this squad that probably will get more gains per gamed played than any other team.

22 is going to be sweeeeeeeet!

I appreciate the optimism but I’m not so sure. We still have no NRL standard fullback, 6, or 9. Reynolds is good at what he does but keep in mind he has only about 6 try assists this season and 2 of them were last night. His goal kicking has also dipped below Isaako’s.

We’ve still shown no ability to put together back to back wins and a number of teams toward the bottom will improve significantly.

It’s a long way from 15th to 5th.

Totally agree but I wouldn't put too much weight on Reynold's lack of try assists. A lot of South's trys come from his work creating space for his outside men but he'll never register the try assist.

I'm with you though that I think our spine is still very average. Could get by with our hooking options for a year or two but we need a decent fullback.

Definitely, I’m not knocking Reyno. My concern is that we don’t have anyone else in the spine that can capitalise on his build up work. We need someone with speed and good finishing pass in either 1 or 6.

Cobbo looks to have a great running and support game but I personally haven’t seen much in the way of a nice passing game. I could say the same about Staggs at 6. Gamble has the opposite issue where he has a decent final pass on him but no speed or threat with the ball in hand.

Not to keep carrying on about it because it’s long since passed by but the idea of Hynes playing off of Reynolds would’ve been such a huge benefit to the team, even a guy like Drinkwater would’ve been great.

Liking Tesi Niu every week I see him play, he's showing some real ability and has some nice weight on some of those kicks too, barely makes any errors also which is something you'd expect of a fullback but after having Isaako back there you really do notice it

Out of those options the obvious choice is the Storm leftover, I think if anything Smith looks even better then Grant this year there is no way Storm have the cap to keep them both for their next contracts.

I don't think Mahoney and Api are realistic, they are both in solid teams as first choice, the rest isn't worth chasing and better to go in house for.

I think Gamble will improve on his Athletic ability next year, given his age and playing Part time for such a period to going to fulltime, give him a full preseason and a proper regiment program he could go another level.

Jesse Arthurs? There was a report somewhere that he was close to extending.

With us looking like losing Levi - I think we’re definitely short another 9 for depth. If Turpin goes down, I don’t know that Paix / Hetherington will be enough.

i don't thin we need to spend anymore money on a 9 unless they are a top shelf 9

#1 - Paix/Turpin
#2 - Paix/Turpin

backup, backup Walters/Hethrington
