Penrith need to beat this charge, to any other team, they could probably get by but given it's Cleary and given their side is loaded with Origin players, they absolutely need him for the first 3 rounds.

Penrith need a good start to the year or they'll go into Origin sitting middle of the table and their depth has been picked apart by other clubs, in years gone by they've always had some gun depth player who would get them through with a couple of wins in Origin, they don't have that anymore.

If Nathan can't beat this charge, I reckon they will have a year like 2025, a late surge, have to rest them all and then try and beat every good team away from home to win the comp. I can't see it.

It was good while it lasted Penrith but it's over, the salary cap got you.

The only concern with the Cleary absence is what it does to our mindset.. psychologically two teams can go in opposite directions when a star player is out for one of those teams..

Panthers are a well coached team that can get by without Cleary for a few weeks, they have proven that.

After I told him that the only legitimate reason for his hate for Walsh is because Walshy is "more talented, richer, far better looking, and without a cooked hairline" said colleague is now unable to make eye contact with me.

I'll just say this ... Should Cleary get this charge downgraded, then the judiciary better get ready for a busy year, because everyone who get a grade 2 careless will be challenging the grade based on the Cleary precedent

Until the 2nd person challenges a grade 2 careless, cops the extended charge, and they'll just say they got it wrong with Cleary and are correcting. Too late to do anything about it then.
