Have been saying since 2024 that the club need to prioritise an early year bye when they put in their requests to start the year.

They kept looking for byes at the end of the year and this year all 3 are within 6 weeks over origin.

But we've needed a bye at around week 6-8 for the last 3 years now because of shortened preseasons, international duties and now stupid overseas exhibition games.

If you lock in a finals spot at the backend you can just rest everyone for a 4th bye anyway

That whole edge is a mess all the time... Shiba is always in front of Ezra as well... everyone just runs a line and it's up to Ezra to pick the pass, but if he's processing for half a second too long then everyone is in front of him and he starts thinking kick behind

Werent good enough. Injuries is No excuses. We did it a couple of weeks ago. Then madge got up and left the millisecond pat finished whatever comment he was making.

Yeah , true but Ezra double pumping is fcking up the timing as well .
Just pass the ball and let Harvey do his thing . Trying to finesse is what was upsetting the timing .
Then there was the pass that hit J Riki on the chest and he didn`t even have his hands up ready to catch it .

Wakeham 1 or 2 week suspension ?
 
Our recruitment priority over every single other thing (re-signing as well) should be going out and getting a ****ING 2ND ROWER.

I like gos but enough already. He should be our 3rd drop 2nd rower, not 1st. He should be our 6th drop prop, not our 3rd.

He has actually been great defensively, but it is far outweighed at the moment by his lack of go forward. I actually think mariner and staggs helped this his first week. Willison needs to stay in the middle for 80 mins, simple as that.

Piakura being injured was the worst in my eyes. Mariner a close 2nd. The rest we have strategies to cover. Even walsh, we change our game to suit. Mariner and piakura we dont try to change our game but them being out unfortunately changes the effectiveness of our game plan.
 
We've played without Piakura 4 times this year and lost all 4 games. He also started on the bench against the Storm and we were getting beaten up at the start of that game.

It's the one position we can't cover, but he's also our most injury-prone player.
 
Life post Haas looks very concerning, especially if we aren’t going to use X like he should be used.
Life after Reyno looks equally as worrying.
Ezra and/or Hunt ain’t it.
Duffy for some reason gives me a heap of confidence, I think it’s just because he comes across as confident and isn’t this flashy player that Ezra tries to be every week. Ezra, Pez and Walsh are all too similar for my liking. I’d be banking on Duffy and Reece then trying to fit the 6 and 9 around him.
At this stage I’d be going into preseason and next season

9. Walters (pending acl comeback)
6. Pez
7. Duffy
14. Smoothy/Paix/Mozer/Buk

Perth would take Ezra in a heartbeat however more likely Duffy ends there 😔

Haas being out wasnt bad when willison was in the middle. Add in jensen and Barnett, with another year under semu and p riki and I am more confident than ever the club made the right move not putting a ridiculous offer up to entice him from the family decision.

Piakua is our biggest out, our edge cover is shocking. AGAIN. Its so bad its dented our middles by taking willison away. Mariner also getting shown how important he is to our go forward.

As has been said, the biggest one is absolutely Hunt starting with Duffy on the bench. If he wanted to start the game to see how it went, fine (although I don't agree) but it clearly wasn't working and leaving the change until 20mins to go was dumb and not fair on Duffy at all. Just a very dumb coaching performance for mine.

Good call. There were so many head scratchers.

We've got so much disruption, why play your best and only middle left standing in the second row? I get that Gosiewski is obviously mediocre and being in the middle allows him to stuff up less but Junt has pretty much outperformed Gosiewski every time he's played, so why is he not a regular in the side while Piakura is out?

And yeah the Bunt / Mam combo was clearly not working, why wait until the game was all but over before making the change? Its weird.

Then, you've got him going back to Tawha who has been nothing short of awful, why on earth keep going back? He needs to be fired into the sun unless he turns it around at Cup level, the dude is Baker level bad.
 
Only Preston Riki facing a fine from last night.

Was sure they would pin some crazy charge on Paix for breaking old mate's leg.
