Shaping up to be a quality weekend of footy.

Cowboys will be looking to avenge their Round 3 loss when they host the Broncos. This should be an absolute beauty but I've got the feeling that it's their turn and with McGuire out Brisbane will simply struggle in the ruck. Plenty of pressure on Adam Blair and if the Broncos are to get home, he's going to have to step up like he did in the second half against the Cowboys (sans the Globetrotters esque play).

Bulldogs v Roosters is a cute little audition for the Origin halves combination. However, the Roosters should get up which will continue the Dogs woes (1 from 5) heading into the Origin season where they'll recover in typical Des fashion. And that's where the Dogs will be better than last year when they got absolutely bowled over during Origin and went from leading the competition to barely holding onto 7th. They'll struggle going in, but I expect them to pick up wins ala 2013 before really firming into the finals when they've got the likes of Morris, Lafai, Graham etc back.

Speaking of the Origin period, I also expect to see the Eels and Warriors to benefit during that period. Out of either side, Warriors clearly have the most upside and if they're going to be there in September, they need to start winning games like this.

Similar story on the Gold Coast except the Sharks should be really stretched come Origin with Gallen, Fifita, Lewis and even Bird in the frame. They need to get back on the horse if they're to challenge but I just get the feeling that they're destined to be that team that finishes 9th or 10th after losing too many games that could have gone either way. How many games have followed that theme? 3? The Wighton tackle, the Roberts intercept and the Hoffman charge down...it's a tough pill to swallow and I don't know if they'll ever truly find themselves this season. Another tough one to call, I'll hold back until I get a clearer picture but leaning towards the Titans tapping into the bounce back factor for this.

Storm v Rabbitohs could be another contender for game of the year. Backing the home team there as they basically nail down their finals spot heading into the Origin period as Souths struggle backing up from Monday.

Raiders are on a roll at the moment but it'll be interesting to see if it'll translate into anything more than a false dawn which is far too common in the capital. Get the feeling that it will continue here as the Monday game for the Dragons felt like one of those 'end of the road' losses for them but will be interested to see how they handle the loss of Williams who's been really underrated for them.

Kind of get the feeling that Wests v Newcastle is simply a contest between 11th vs 12th. Both teams are really struggling for cohesion and it's difficult imagining either challenging come September. Tough one to pick, the Knights are due but the Tigers have more upside and I'm leaning towards them unless Stone takes a gamble.

Monday Night is shaping up to be a beauty with the resurgent Sea Eagles taking on the Panthers. I haven't uncapped my white out yet, my red line is still well and truly through Manly's name as a finalist in September but they're going to fight for awhile and at home, should be too strong for Penrith who they lost to back in Round 7. That was a back and forth game that really could have ended either way but in the end, the Sea Eagles simply lacked combinations and strike to challenge the Panthers. With Stewart back and both wings available I think they can go 3/3 and DCE will nail down that utility spot for Queensland, if he hasn't done so already.

I didn't think it were possible, but in Peyroux and Jono Wright, the Warriors have an even more toothless attacking combination than what we do in Reed and Maranta.

And just like we have Copley in reserves, so too are Fusitua and Fisiiahi.

Haven't been this excited for a round of footy since round 1. I don't think there's a game I'm not looking forward too, except maybe the Titans V Sharks.

Warriors fan holding up a sign at Parra today:
"Urine trouble now Parra"
Give that man a prize.

This game is just so sloppy both teams are struggling to complete sets and Parramatta just can't produce anything down the Warriors end. Shaun Johnson is playing fantastic though he is the difference between the two teams atm.

The Warrior still have plenty of work to do in the second half as they are playing without Hoffman and T-L and Parramatta are a far better team when they are playing at home.

Shaun Johnson finally turning up, is he?

One of the most overrated players in the game.

He's inconsistent - not overrated. It's symptomatic of the entire Warriors team. Why work hard when you can pull off an arsey win?

So glad to see the Titans lose. Serves you right for taking 3 penalty goals.

The Broncos have done that this year. But we ended up winning.

But I don't give a **** about the Titans, so I'm glad to see it backfire.

I hate teams blindly taking the 2. Acceptable at certain stages, but not everytime. It's boring and happens for too often.

Tim Grant on report... For what?

That wasn't even a penalty.

That was a nice try by Johnston..
