POST GAME [Round 11, 2023] Broncos vs Storm

What can you do when you lose your halfback (to an illegal play that we received a penalty try for), cop the full force of a referee's incompetence in the second half, lose two players to contentious sin bin calls, and also have to deal the typical Melbourne in Melbourne BS (standing blatantly offside etc)?

Ok so.
we lost our captain. And half back early.
we get a penalty try instead of a professional foul.
hughes dog shotted flegs after he was trying to stop Grant from choking him. Play on.
herbie barely touched a player who dove and is in the bin.
15 million 6 agains/penalties to almost none.
NAS dives and holds his ankle that CARRIGAN DOESNT EVEN TOUCH. If Carrigan did hit him it was above the knee. Carrigan in the bin.
Xavier knocks the ball on (but backwards) and it ends up in a try, because of course
Billy Walters plays the whole game at hooker even though Paix was on the bench, why didn’t we move Walters to 6 earlier rather than weakening the centre position?
Herbie passing on the 2nd over the touch line.

BUT AT LEAST XAVIER WAS DENIED THAT MAGNIFICENT TRY AND WE WONT HAVE TO WATCH REPLAYS OF THAT UNTIL FOREVER

You can't. You just can't. There was no chance we were going to be allowed to steal a win tonight.

We are nowhere near premiership material. We can go on a little winning streak beating the shit teams but when the big dogs come to town (Storm, Souths etc) we crumble and fold like the weak bitches we are. Until this somehow changes, we will NEVER beat the Storm again and we definitely won't win another premiership again.
**** off.

Hard to take much away from that game because it wasn’t rugby league. The single worst ref performance I can remember.

Not even one sided, if anything the storm copped it worst. Just horrendous all round

That is just not right. Melbourne are not a top team this year. They've been playing like busteds all season. The refereeing decided the result, it is as simple as that.
That and dropping the ball 5+ times. Herbie getting binned, giving away a dumb penalty and throwing the ball over the sideline on tackle 2 inside the 20. Billy taking Munster out...

I'd be absolutely lashing that team right now. The storm didn't so much win as have it handed to them by a pitiful performance from the backs , headlined by Herbie.

I don’t agree with that.

It’s still a team with plenty of Origin & Test players. Are they Penrith/Rabbitohs tier? No but they are still a team you should be beating if you want others to take you seriously.

The forwards were good (except Capewell), we definitely didn't lose it in the middle

The backs were shocking. Haas and Carrigan could run for 300 metres each and we'd still lose with the errors they came up with. Melbourne got results off kicks all night. Very similar to the Rabbits game.
