Broncos centre Kotoni Staggs sustained a fractured first rib in the Magic Round victory over the Sea Eagles.

Scans at the Clive Berghofer Qscan Facility confirmed Staggs' injury - picked up in the first half of the Magic Round win - ahead of this Sunday's derby against the Titans at Suncorp Stadium.

Staggs considered himself a chance of taking on the Titans and trained today at Red Hill, before the decision was made to rule him out.

Broncos Coach Kevin Walters said: "It is an injury that you can play with and we know that Kotoni is a tough player but l've taken that decision out of his hands.
"He will be far better to miss this week and then let it continue to heal over the bye round before we get back into it against the Sharks in Round 14.

"Indigenous Round is really special to Kotoni and the whole team will go out there and make sure we deliver a big performance for him and our supporters."

Mentioned during the live thread he hurt himself. Then the poor guy got through a game with a broken rib getting called out for being toweled up. **** playing NRL with a broken rib! It's hard enough to get up off the couch lol

Get up in the face of Fifita before he can build up momentum and get numbers in the tackle wrapping up the ball, and don't think he's going to pass the ball if gets into dummy half, he's always going to run especially close to the line.

More importantly, don't give them the opportunities down our end. High completion, smart kicking, and strong first contact so we win tackles and don't need to wrestle (and concede 6 against which the refs will be aching for). Our high-risk plays are suicide if the opposition isn't fatigued, earn the right to pull the trigger.

Disappointed for Staggs but keen to see some more of Karapai. Also interested to see who plays on the right side.

Staggs has underperformed this year and his brain dead plays have increased.

Not unhappy to see him out for a few weeks.

Has been more involved than ever .
Taken up some of the slack left from Herbert leaving . And is a leader in the team . I don`t agree he is under performing . I think he has shifted the focus of his performances .

He's probably not hit the highlight reel as much. But his defense has been fantastic as have his carries out of our end. He's training up a new winger combination and our #7 has changed how many times this year who plays often on his side. He's done well.

Broncos tries conceded.

Left-20/38- 53%
Middle 7/38-18%
Right-11/38-29%

Broncos left is second to Panthers right with 56% (15/27)
Dragon's right is equal with Broncos on 53% (23/43)

Three worst sides in the NRL.

Sorry @1910 I had to figure out what your last statement was referring to specifically - the highest percentage of a single field segment of the field leaking points? Doggies right up there but yeah, it's pretty telling on our left. Our 2nd Row issues on that side likely being a big contributor.

How the **** are we leaking more tries than the Tigers, Dolphins, Bulldogs and equal to the Knights. lol

Had 3 different 2nd rowers , 2 different wingers and 2 new centres alongside Ezra .
Whad`ya reckon the opposition say during the week ?
Yeah lets go at Reyno [Jock] / Riki / Staggs they look vulnerable !

Thatā€™s percentages though, not overall numbers.

Worst on % or worst on actual number of tries conceded?

You would say most lopsided defence or something; not worst sides lol
