PRE-GAME Round 12 - Broncos vs Storm

Yea we got this. Melbourne will be complacent after last week's win (even with their injuries). By time they click into gear in the 2nd half, we will already be too far ahead. Forwards will all step up trying to prove they can take lodges spot once he goes. Milford will kill it as his last game as a Bronco. We know how to win again. Broncos by 14.

Milford to win one last macca’s man of the match

I'm getting a good feeling about this one tbh. Storm are ripe for the taking and IF (it's a big if) we can back up a good win with the same effort, we should beat them. However....it's been a fucking long time between drinks and idk if these guys can put 2 mins together. Hoping for the best, but so were Souffs last week...so I similarly wouldn't be surprised if we get drubbed by 30. No expectations on the team tbh, I won't be able to watch anyway (camping in the stix with the fam) so best of luck.

Not sure which side TPJ will be playing on, but Albert has to play on the same side. He was off his hip all game looking for the offload.

The temptation would be to play him against Lewis, given he's a rookie, but I believe Lewis is quite a big half or was that Johns??

The concern if he plays against Hughes is that Hughes can take advantage of TPJ's lapses in defence... the bonus would be having TPJ running at him all game to try and tire him out. However, even though TPJ was giving Walker nightmares the stats indicate he only made 11 tackles (4 missed)... I'd want that up closer to 30!!

I hope Herbie has recovered, because we really need his hit ups and meters from the back... Copley and Arthars barely cracked 100m between them.

Only 5 players cracked 100m... Lodge 216m, Haas 211m, TPJ 142m, Isaako 103m and Mead 222m (although 100m of that is probably from the intercept tries) ... Lodge is gone this week so we need to be sharing the load more.

Herbie will help in that department, but Flegler needs to step up and put in a big game... no fucking penalties and no laziness in the ruck!!

I thought Kobe went well last week and Kevvie clearly trusted him given he played him over Bull, but Bull will be needed here as basically the only prop on the bench. It was good to see Bull go back to Norths after not getting any minutes, start at prop for them and I believe 1910 indicated that he had a solid game.

I believe in santa again.

I actually would have given us half a chance of an upset if we had Gamble instead of Milford.

Ah well. Here's hoping Milford can put on a 600k performance.

I too feel this way. Earlier on today I was trying to imagine what Milford might be feeling. In my minds eye I could see ,no imagine how the last few weeks might have played out. So, I'm going to write this as I think Milford might be thinking. The following is Milfords inner voice.

****, ****, ****. **** those *****. I busted my arse out there and they dropped me. It wasn't my fault we got bashed. What the **** am I going to do next year. Now I got no chance to get some TV time, I don't want to take shit money playing for some shit team. **** it! Wait...what, I'm stood down? On standby? They want me to play against Melbourne? ****, I get another shot? Beauty. **** me, I better aim up. If I have a blinder they'll have to keep picking me, ****, another shot! Didn't think I'd see first grade again. Wow. I'm going to tear these pricks a new arse...

Me again! I hope that's how Milfords inside voice is talking to him. I think before he was always thinking, ahhh, I'll get another shot but when he was dropped last time I think he probably thought, for the first time in Brisbane that he was genuinely done, there wasn't going to be any more shots. I think that'd probably be true if Croft wasn't injured because I think KW would have picked Croft before Milford until Gamble was back.

We might be a chance with Milford despite the odds. One night of magic.

...i think you mean Milford; Melbournes edge forwards will run at him all night long...Big Nelson, Bromwich etc...

Fuckin bloodbath. Replace Starling with Milf....same result...

But yeh, who knows, its a absolute lottery right now in terms of trying to predict anything in games.

But Storm are the smartest team in the league, we are about to see why.

Their system is so ingrained you take Grant, Munster etc out....no probs.....everyone knows what they are doing...

Mind you, with Turps still at hooker for this game, we have a few suprises of our own too...

This is very Josh Hodgson like in execution. Haas draws 4 defenders to him, watch Turps have a quick word & look towards TPJ..

Crash ball might be the one way to break down the Storm.....we just need the field position to do it.

And we are one of the lowest rates of time in possesion in the oppo half in the NRL....so theres that.. :sook:
