POST GAME Round 12 - Broncos vs West Tigers

A very dull performance. Milford and Hunt have been off for the last two games, but it's hard for any attack to shine when we are starting nearly every set of six in our own twenty. I think it's time we had another discussion about Reed.He is giving us very little in attack now and I can't really see that changing .

Great performances are obviously built around great combinations and we didnt have that Friday as they were new combinations. Same thing happened to the Cows last night. We lacked a great player being able to control us and that is mainly because our halves are good but young so not great yet.

I wouldn't have been against Milford putting in a little grubber here.

TPJ one on one with Rankin, who comes off second best?

From Milf's position, I think by the time he was able to get the ball to foot with any sort of accuracy, Pangai might have ran himself off side anyway. You can see in your shot, their feet are practically dead on as it is and Milf has no intention of attempting a kick

So at what point does Bennett also realise that Reed needs to be dropped?

Maybe when he isn't missing a third of his roster.

Yeah this is a very good point actually. I wonder if Seve/Opacic might get a start next game over Maranta who was clearly underdone and horrible, or Eden.

I'd be satisfied if I never see Maranta & Eden in a Broncos jumper again honestly, being safe under the high ball is a nice trait to have, but when it's virtually the only thing going for you, you're shit outta luck. I'm sure they'll both be elite ISC players for many years to come. Let's try someone talented like Seve, Opacic, Isaako or Anderson please.

The last thing the Broncos need is more fresh faces.

Eden Barba. Gets pushed back every ball return.

I would love to see Seve get a shot or Opacic. We've recently re-signed Opacic, is that a sign?

I thought both Eden and Maranta we're Ok on Friday. In fact I thought both of them showed some real zip, which is something sadly missing from Reeds game.

I don't get all the hunt criticism. This year milford is taking over a lot and calling for the ball a lot more. I think this is hurting hunts game. Yes he had one horrible kick but he had two excellent kicks. One did lead to a try and one was very close. We out kicked the tigers halves. Not that this is a great achievement.

I feel like milford is on the precipice with his confidence. He has been marked up heavily for weeks and is struggling with it. He is passing when he needs to run and running when he should pass. The second is far more common. I also feel reed and glenn are in poor form and he is losing trust in him. Yet he still gets all the ball while the right get the scraps.

Yes ben hunt didn't help in our last set but milford was almost completely avoiding responsibility after shanking it last week.

This is pretty much what I have been ranting (sorry) about with a creative short kicking game.

Milf could have kicked for himself, he could have signalled Hunt and kicked for Ben or maybe even Roberts across the other side.

I mean, look at what looks like acres of grass behind the defensive line?

This was going to be part of my rant on what went wrong. Can't be fucked now to be honest, but yeah, Eden was a massive liability. Instead of Oates making 10 metres and getting a relatively fast PTB, Eden was routinely held and then pushed back to behind where he even started his run. It was worse than with Barba - I haven't seen it happen so consistently since Gagai's first few games. You just can't start a set off that way, it was no wonder Hunt was kicking from the 30 with the defence in his face just about every set.

Andersons form has been a little off the last couple of weeks. Put in a great performance for the Jets today though. Had some really good runs, went looking for work & offered a lot of support play. Scored a try & kicked 5/5 conversations. He's a gun for the Jets & has a great future, not sure about 1st grade yet though.

On last nights form, you may have a point. But over the entire season, Milford has been probably the stand out performer over the entire NRL.
Yes....he's put in a couple off games now in a row. Still, he has too much class not to rise above having 2 or 3 bad games.

The scope for criticism (as harsh as yours re: can't win a GF) has a fairly small criteria base if we're talking about both our halves.

Ben Hunt is a worry, it's hard to argue against that. If I've been delusional, it's most likely been in hoping he is actually better than he is.

Barba had one purple patch of a season....and then went back to playing to his usual potential, a slightly above average standard. Was 2015's Ben Hunt's purple patch?

After letting Taylor get away......**** I hope not.

I have been a fairly strong supporter of Ben Hunt but I am also starting to get a bit concerned as well. I have to say I have almost jumped aboard SS Porthoz in believing that we should have kept Ash Taylor. If Hunt continues to stink it up, I hope down the track we can entice Taylor back because he looks to have the goods.

My biggest issue was with the fact that he didn't drop to the ground when he caught the ball. Which allowed Tigers to just drag him back.

Unless the chasers are nowhere near you, just drop to the fucking ground so they can't push you back.
