POST GAME [Round 13, 2026] - Broncos vs Dragons

He's not the reason we lost but his job is to be the reason we won. That's why 6's get paid so much.
Mam does seem to cop it. Truth is we are making errors all over the park and are extremely disjointed in attack. We lose possession at dumb points and then don't win the wrestle back, dragons rolled down our field far too easily if it wasn't for haas today I think we would of got put even more points on us. I don't understand for the life of me why we start to play good attacking free flowing football until the end of the game. The sweeping plays to Walsh are where we shine but we don't seem to pull them out until we are far behind on the board. I'm not sure who is making the calls and the orders and who the leader in the group is when they are playing, it looks like Reynolds, hunt and Walsh all have different ideas of how they want to play and then Ezra just goes with the flow and looks lost

I'm not sure he is worth the money we pay him. My point is more that we will drive ourselves mad expecting more from him. He's never going to be a guy that puts the team on his back. He's got limited strings to his bow. His long kicking game is non existent. He has no organising skills. He's not really a playmaker. His passing game is mixed. I think we just have to accept this is who is always going to be and ask whether we want $1million tied up in a player like that.

Blokes definitely not worth the money his on. But he isn't a 7. Ezra is fine he just needs clear control and some stability in what his 7,9,1 are doing. Your 6 realistically doesn't need to be a world beater just needs to know how to take the line on and shuffle it to Walsh, an odd grubber or two to the edge and he does his job. He seems to be copping alot of shit but some of these games Ezra has still been pretty good in breaking the defense because he is a slippery prick with the ball and can throw a good cutout ball when he is on.

Gotta say. I'd be interested in our points per minute when Paix is on the field Vs when Paix is off.

I rarely ever see him pick the ball up on a run and smash a quick PTB for momentum. Feels like we never score when he's on.

The Walsh sweep is definitely our main attacking weapon but we can't rely on it for everything. Defences will just wise up to it. Reece already has to deal with a tonne of mosquitos buzzing around. Mam needs to find his attacking flair again, it's as simple as that. He needs to have the defence in exactly the same two minds that Walsh puts into them. That was our strategy in 2023, and we got to the Granny off the back of it.

Hunts try to big X was off the Walsh sweep. The Walsh Sweep needs to be the prime game plan and I believe Ben Hunt as the 7 because his strength is seeing space on the short ball

Fun fact: we won a Grand Final when Paix replaced Adam Reynolds.
