POST GAME [Round 13, 2026] - Broncos vs Dragons

I thought the point of the game was to make metres. Didn't realise this was swimming and you have to stay in your lane.

Do you see props running sideways to try and run at the #7 every game ?
A prop`s job is to battle the opposition forwards and dominate them .
Not go running side ways to spot up the half back .

Lots of metres - yes . Effective in helping win the game ? Not so much ....

So you want less line breaks like the one he made on Sunday? Mate, do you proof read some of the things you post?

If they can make more metres and get a quicker play the ball by running at the halves from time to time... go for it. In fact, when we're getting railed and the line speed around the ruck is rapid off slow play the balls, maybe more of them should have the same idea rather than making a nothing 1m carrry straight into the rushing defenders.

This is what happens when you allow the tail to wag the dog......

I'd say if this is the case Madge has probably learnt an important lesson, he only has to look back at the previous coach, a lot this group couldn't be bothered to put in for Kevvie in his last season then threw him under the bus in the review to cover their own butts.

If he lets this group run things it'll cost him the job.

OK ,,,, so the prop`s job is to do the 2nd rowers job for them ?
Maybe you should proof read yourself .

Props are called middles ? I wonder why ?

That is the 2nd rowers / edge forward`s job .
Not the prop .

Making more metres up the middle of the ruck has been the name of the game for as long as I can remember .
Making metres on the edge is not going to tire the opposition forwards .

So wingers shouldn't come in for the hard runs out of their own end, yeah? Just stay on the wing and let the big boys trundle back to take those carries?

You are basically saying, somehow with a straight face, that every position should be locked into a set line on the field.

Oh ,,, so how many tries were scored by using this ground breaking tactic ?

How many additional metres did we gain using the tactic? That a try wasn't scored off the back of it was not Payne's fault. He set them up in tremendous field position when nothing much else was happening. But sure, should have stuck to the middle.

mate listen they didn't get their hard earned trope of never having to wash their jerseys by moving out of their designated lane.

OK if it is an effective tactic .
Why is it so little used in the NRL .

You can make metres , all good . But is it creating advantage to attack from ?

There is a reason why for 100 plus years forwards try to dominate their opposites in the middle of the field .

But lets ignore that and play like under 12s .

Because props rarely have the athleticism of a Payne Haas. Why not allow him to take advantage of that?

You're also acting like he does this a hundred times a game, when he takes plenty of hard runs up the middle. It's a truly perplexing hill you are dying on here....

No that`s not what I am saying .
I`m saying a prop should do prop work .

The reason why wingers take those runs is because they are onside after dropping back for the kick .
The forwards aren`t even in position till tackle 3 or 4 . So how can they take a hard run if they aren`t behind the ball ?

You want the middles to sprint back from where they were defending for 50 - 60 metres and take a hit up on the 2nd tackle . Of every set ?

Talkin some crazy talk bro .
