Ok time for Roberts to come back into the team. Shiba’s defence is good but his attack is woeful. Twice he has dropped the ball cold in a position to race down field. Those moments win or lose you games and Roberts usually makes the most of them.

Please Roberts have a good game this weekend and show some fight.

gotta disagree...Haas could not have helped a lot of the utter shit served up by most of the squad. Plus, the club is laying new ground rules and expectations now, and its probably long overdue...

Definitely agree with the ground rules and expectations conments. The club inforced suspensions, release of players or dropping of regular first graders for sub par performances/efforts has put the team on notice. It has shown that it is a privalige, not a right to wear the broncos jersey.

This has led to some real development from younger players who have got the jersey and given it a real crack, Case in point - stagg who is now our number 1 centre, turpin who i think sjould be our number 1 hooker. Flegler and deardon who werent on many people's radar before the season started too.

If milford gets selected for origin it will be interesting to see how deardon and i'm guessing sullivan work together i.e. who is the dominant half, kicker etc.

Perfect game to bring Roberts back imo, against his old club, Sunday arvo at Suncorp.

Shibasaki hasn't done enough for mine, he's been solid defensively, but Roberts is just so much better it's not even funny. Pull your finger out Jimmy!!

We don't know why he's been dropped. Maybe he's failed a recreational drugs test for all we know. Anything you're hearing is pure speculation. I'm happy to leave this one to Seibold's discretion.

I think he was a bit of a scapegoat to be honest. The team had been going terribly and was already down 18-0 when he let in a soft try with a poor read. I remember watching that game and I recall seeing him battered, bleeding and bruised, I thought he tried his guts out in the second half, hitting hard as he could and hitting the line hard too.

I think the criticism is and was a bit unfair.There were plenty others who were going ordinarily at the time but he was the one who annoyed AS. Sometimes it's just a personality thing. His achilles injury has been a real issue too and I think he needed to rest it up a bit.

Maybe you're right: the official line is he's been sent off to work on something specific. But it has the sniff of something a bit more disciplinarian or a peg that doesn't fit.

Will be interesting to see what happens if Staggs is suspended for this game for the high shot on nikorima (although the fact knik is 2 feet tall should surely be taken into account, but our "suspicious" record with the MRC does not give me any confidence).

People calling for Roberts to take shibasakis spot are off their heads. Shibasaki has made some errors but our wins have been built on effort and defence, 2 areas shibasaki dominates Roberts in big time at the moment.
However, if Staggs and bird are out perese is our only other viable pure centre option. I'd also be open to David fifita playing there over Roberts. Unless of course Roberts attitude does a complete 360 at training and in QLD cup.
What are people's thoughts?
For me it's fifita, flegler taking his bench spot back and keeping carrigan in the team. How people pull up from origin will change the team too..

Correction: We’d be top 4 had we not shit the bed in those last moments of the Tigers and Dragons games at Suncorp.

Had we won them, which with some composure we should have, we’d be currently 7/11 heading into the first bye round with the 4 losses being to the Storm, Roosters, Rabbitohs and Canberra all away from home and who were the top 4 teams of the comp.

Definitely not going as bad as what it seemed like a month ago. It’s only the Tigers and Dragons chokes at home that have made our Win-Loss record just below par.

If he'd failed a drug test the club wouldn't know either and if it was his second he would be out for 12 weeks.

Yes with a decent rest and new found confidence and resilience, I think a big score might be on the cards. We like big scores against the Titans.

I honestly think Shiba has not been as bad as what people are making out. He has had a couple of dropped balls yeah, but Sammy Thaiday had a pretty good career and he was prone to dropping the odd ball.

Shiba actually busts a few tackles which not many people are recognising. Also, he has had limited opportunities in the opposition 20 with Deardens introduction into the team. Most of our attack has been directed down Milfords side. Last night's game was a noticeable increase in Deardens involvement in 5th tackle options. Lets give Shiba more time to actually show what he can do before we throw him on the scrap heap. His defence alone warrants his continued opportunity at centre imo.

Milf would play even if selected for origin. It’s the Sunday game and he would get like 20 minutes max off the bench.

Roberts is up there with the best centres in the game when he's on form, there's no way he doesn't find his way back into first grade.

Shiba I honestly think is a bit slow with the ball in hand and between the ears but he fucking tackles and tackles well. We've won our last 2 games on nothing but defending our arses off. I've been honestly impressed with how well he hits and sticks.

I just can't see how Shiba can be dropped. Roberts needs to earn his way back in, at his best he can rip it up in first grade so if he's committed and focussed, he should be able to prove himself top tier in a lower grade and earn his spot back.

We're only going off heresay but if Roberts was dropped for poor attitude then nothing short of him forcing his way back in through good form would be acceptable.
