PRE-GAME [Round 14, 2022] Broncos vs Raiders

Damm Gamble that sucks. Hopefully not as bad as it sounds. Broken Tibia is like 4-6 months isn't it?
There's a lot of variables with tibia fractures. Timelines and recoveries are dependent on location (eg around the ankle, syndesmosis involvement, tibial plateu) and then there's severity (eg compound, hairline, open).. so in short, more information is needed before anyone has any idea. Could be 6-8 weeks or the entire season.

Gamble is a big out hope it isn't a season ending if it's his Tibia.

The rumors that Reynolds might not be ready seem to be baseless since there is no half in the extended squad so they must be confident.

Do we have another option in reserve grade?

Likely Martin would go to the halves, Herbie fullback and Lee or Hoeter coming in at centre.

Is Tyrone Roberts injured?

If not he would probably be the obvious answer, I think Kelly is still out.

Ofcourse we could move TMM to 7 and put Herbie, Cobbo etc to FB but it might be too much of a gamble to change too much while on a good run.

Thought it was weird there was no backup half in the 24 given gambles injury and Reynolds returning... but then I thought, who would we put in anyway?...

Either Walters or TMM move into the halves if needed I suppose. Maybe farnworth will get his shot at fullback if that's the case. You wouldn't give the shot to cobbo backing up from his 1st ever origin. All our injuries are in the spine.

Also weird Turpin isn't in the 24 despite him requesting a release as it would give us a bit of flexibility with Walters, and capewell not in the 24 - I get that he's playing origin but what if he gets a concussion in the 1st minute then doesn't return but fine for this game? (Just one example)

Kelly, niu, now Gamble, Turpin and isaako turfed, Reynolds a few injuries... our spine is looking VERY light

I think if it comes to these extents we are probably fucked regardless. You got Kobe as hooker cover as well. Would definitely carry the defensive load of that position for 20 minutes if Paix needed it and we would survive in attack. I actually thought Hetho’s small stint at 9 larst year was probably the most promising attack I had seen from our 9 in years.

Look I love Tyson as much as the next bloke but from the last 2 games especially the Titans game I just had this feeling that Tyson was probably an injury away from never getting that spot back. Whilst he was winning I would never have made that move but if this goes down successfully than I find it hard to see Tyson back in the 6 jersey on a permanent basis. This was the opportunity Mam was waiting for and it obviously has happened earlier than he was probably expecting but I wonder if with nobody on his tail he takes his foot off the accelerator especially defensively. My ownly real worry at the moment.

Love Tyson, hope he recovers strong. Unfortunate news. But at the moment he is the only bloke as 7 cover for the foreseeable future. Needs to be our 7 development plan unless someone gets recruited or blossoms because I can see us being very fucked come Reynolds retirement in that position. Get your rehab done Tyson and don’t get your head down your career at the bronx isn’t done just yet.

Hopefully gamble isn’t that bad purely from a depth point of view.

It's been described as "lower leg soreness" so maybe it's shin splints. I've played a season with those. It was an absolute **** to train though.

There are two centres and a wing in reserves. Half can be covered by Te Maire or Billy. Selwyn or Herbie can move into fullback, with one of the wingers or centres coming in.

Kotoni and Selwyn are both liable to be pulled as well, depending on how they recover from Origin.

Someone running around Facebook broncos group before said Gamble has broken his Tibia. Unfortunate but considering he was calling that Gamble and Capes were out and Madge got sacked I reckon his intel will be pretty spot on for the Tibia. Don’t know how long recovery is and not going to pretend like I do.
Depends on the break. I had two fractures run directly down the top of my right Tibia, took 12 months to heal.

It's going to be interesting to see how Mams defence goes without Capewell next to him, Kurt would of been constantly talking to Ezra helping him through and helping him make decisions.
TC doesn't have much more experience in first grade compared to Mam so Herbie and TMM are going to have to help these guys out.

I thought it weird that the Gambler was not in that kick around with the ball video as he loves a joke and a carry on. I did ask then if he was injured but no one was any the wiser it seems.

Hope it's not for too long, but what a lucky break that Mam has already had a couple of games before this game. Will be nice to see him just concentrating on running the ball when he sees a chance and leaving the rest to Reyno.

Any confirmations on Gamble broken tibia or is it just leg soreness. Ezra could be a great buy in fantasy if gambles out for a while

No confirmation. Broncos medical staff are investigating it, so we won't know until the scans come back.

wow hope Gamble is alright. He’s been a great contributor as always.

I was just thinking today about how soon we’d see Mam and Reynolds play together and that I would’ve been disappointed if it didn’t happen at some stage this season but I didn’t expect it this soon.

As mentioned above, the biggest concern is that he won’t have Capes next to him.
