POST GAME [Round 14, 2026] - Broncos vs Titans

Another frustrating game, and honestly I think so much of the attack issues won't get resolved until Rennyo hangs them up and we have a change at hooker. Imagine a Panthers side with that much ball and territory in a game. Gos is awful, the club is absolutely cooked if he gets anywhere near another contract, once again you highlight Paix who only ever darts from the ruck when he is 2 meters out. What ever has happened to Walsh he is a shadow of himself and actually offers nothing either, Arthurs if I was on the fence with another contract for him well I just fell on the side of he should be on his way.

Shining lights i feel from last night were Xavier and Piakura, both really good. And as much as I hate to say it, the 7 on the injury bench, if we have 6 of those tonight we win that, but we don't have the depth which is evident to cover these guys.

Any update on Semu??
I missed that, what happened to Semu?

Defence: We must have the most placid defence in the comp. It is almost static once the ball is played and we wait for the runner to get to us giving up almost 50-60 m nearly every set. Then when the attacker does hit the line it's all grabbing and trying to hold the player up instead of hitting with the shoulder and putting them on the ground. Maybe sacking our defensive coach wasn't such a smart move.

Attack: I love Reyno but it's not working. I imagine because of his age he can't or wont run the ball so is never a run threat for the defence which can just slide onto his runners. When I watch Reyno his first instinct is to move sideways instead of straightening and drawing a player. I don't think it has been a coincidence that our attack seems to fire when he has been out injured.

I really think that Reece Walsh would be better in the halves. His catching of the high ball has improved but his positioning in defence is still quite poor and after this amount of time I don't think that is going to change.

How bad must our injury stocks be that Goski is a starter? The guy tries hard but he just isn't anywhere near NRL standard. Having two guys in their mid 30's has caught up with us and there is no way Hunt should be extended for next year.

Yeh this was piss weak how he was doing this. One play he threw a really stupid long range pass to Walsh who then threw a really long range pass to karapani to make a hitup off a kick for no gain whatsoever, Arthur's consistently avoids taking the hitup because he gets belted. Missing mariner running the ball hard
It was obviously game planned I don’t think Arthars deserves blame for this. I thought it was actually a smart way of fixing our exit sets

Yeah I thought it was good for the most part, Arthars had some fluff ups. There was a lot of improvement but still a lot of dog shit.

As crappy as hunt has been this season and last night in particular, we looked most dangerous when he was getting into first receiver. He got willison into the game by straightening up the attack.

I know the Ezra play is the one being discussed but there was a similar play early in the game which shows the squads current state of mind and wanting to take the easy way out.

It was when we had all the early possession off the back of 6 agains and there was an offload while we were attacking their line and we spread the ball and it ended up with Staggs. 3rd tackle and he puts a kick in which never looked dangerous and luckily enough we trapped them in the in goal. But we just don't seem to want to break sides down this year.

Its also really starting to frustrate me how many times our forwards win the ruck but our hookers are too slow and lack the deceptivenes to punish the opposition for it. There could be split markers or neither marker square and Hunt or Paix will just ambled forward and make a 6 meter hit up. We simply need to be better at that. I strongly beleive we are losing 12 points a game with missed opportunities from our hookers.

Yeah Bunt can still hang on as a 7 but he can’t as a 9 next year. But with losing Haas, it’s a good time to move to the future.

On our R&R team, yeah it’s been an issue for years, that is definitely an area last year papered over.

This is the Broncos team running around elsewhere (2027):

1. Gray
2. Xoates
3. Gagai
4. Farnworth
5. Cobbo
6. Dearden
7. Walker
8. Haas
9. Plath
10. Flegler
11. Capewell
12. Hosking
13. Hetherington

14. Kikorima
15. Collins
16. Bullemor
17. Fifita
18. Simpkin
19. Anderson

Now obviously you can’t keep them all but some of those definitely could have been kept.

And don’t forget, two blokes on our current team also left and came back, one being our best player - Walsh, Bunt

Both Bunt and Paix also like to pass above the head of the receiver.

I thought our effort was up a lot on last week. We lost last week because we had no commitment. Last night we lost due to bad lack and execution at times.

Other than that last terrible play Mam looked more motivated than at any other point this season. He was running hard.

You are going to have a game or two like this a year where you cop bad luck. It stings more when you've put in previous poor efforts and lost games you should have won.

Is Reece injured? He didn't like right last night?

We are primarily where we are due to forward depth. We haven't had the players to replace Jensen, Carrigan, haas, Riki and piakura at different points. Teams have run through us.

Also losing Billy Walters has been massive.

100% I thought we looked far more dangerous when he had his hands on the ball first. He needs to play halfback imo

Season is over. I know we won the comp last year but we really need a clean out. Game constantly changing and too many of our players have been lazy and in consistent for too long.

I have no idea how Staggs gets the love he gets. He does one big play every week or two and then nothing for the rest of the game. Last night was another case of scoring a good try and then going completely missing. How we kept him over Herbie is beyond me.

Not blaming the loss on him, but when the likes of Staggs and Reynolds are our “leaders” it’s very concerning. Walsh was very poor. Ezra was great when he was on but made the wrong call to end the game bit we should never have been there.

Reynolds and Hunt need to go. Too old. Jack Gos isn’t first grade standard and never has been. His costly knock on leading to a try. And Reece Walsh, Jesus Christ put some effort in. I’d honestly be looking to drop him. We have lost every game since his return. Doesn’t put his body on the line and isn’t fit enough.

Thought Anderson was excellent last night; he is such a selfless player. After his game for Wynnum where he put Verhoeven into gaps galore on debut I just thought he'd be perfect for the Broncos- I never noticed it at the Storm, but he was the perfect partner for a young player or player down on confidence and again last night

Karapani made three line breaks last night and Verhoeven hasn't gone anywhere near the numbers he got in round one.

If you had 17 Andersons you'd come third every year.
