Round 14 - Broncos vs. Tigers - Pre Match Discussion`

Surely the money has to be on the Tigers being 18-0 up in the first 15 minutes, the first try through a miracle or lucky bit of play with a Falcon involved somehow, the second try through a refereeing balls up. The third through poor defence as the tigers roll over the top of us when our heads are down.

From then on we are playing catch............... a greasy field, poor handling and 5th tackle plays compounded by desperation all combine to see the Broncos play like a unorgansied bunch of numpties.

*Waynesaurus bends to his knees and begins praying madly to the football/Broncos gods for the team to find something.........find anything!!!!!* :001_rolleyes:

It's official, you can't give away tickets to the broncos anymore lol. I got a spare ticket for tonight cos one of our usual crew can't come, and I literally can't give it away... what have we become lol

I hope we lose by a significant margin and play terribly.

We need to hit absolute rock bottom before anything positive will be done.

Probably what will happen is we'll grind a 2 pointer out and continue to accept lies and the the illusion that 70% of our team are of NRL standard.

There will be lots of false dawns for Broncos fans over the foreseeable future until Hook makes significant changes for the future; or he is fired and replaced with someone who can accept that truth and rebuild, urgently.

Are you from the future? Or maybe the past, as you seem to have described the Broncos past 6 weeks of football.

The boys need to realise, luck or poor refereeing decisions won't get us out of this hole or offer reasonable excuses for playing sulky football.

Well......................I feel like this same game has been played out of the last 2 years to be quite honest.

OPTION 1 - KICK OFF:

Wallace receives the kick off, passes to Hannant, first hit up, tackled 25M out.
Hannant plays it to McCullough who passes it to Thaiday for the second hit up.
Parker takes the 3rd tackle to the middle corridor on the 40M.
McGuire takes a final hit up for the 4th.
Wallace kicks it deep, Karobitoe runs it back to the 40M.

OPTION 2 - BALL RECEIVED INSIDE OUR OWN 20M

Norman takes the hit-up. First tackle.
Maranta runs from dummy half. Second tackle.
Hoffman/Reed runs one off for a hit up or from dummy half. Third tackle.
(If ^ is a quick one) Hodges to dummy half, scoot. If not, hit up from Glenn or Gillett. Fourth.
(If ^ is a quick one and Hodges not playing it) Hodges to dummy half, scoot. If not, hit up from Glenn or Gillett. Fifth
Wallace kicks it deep, Karobitoe runs it back to the 40M.

OPTION 3: ANYWHERE ELSE ON THE FIELD

First 3 tackles - Parker/Thaiday/Hannant work the middle to left/right corridor.
Fourth tackle - Second man play, Hannant/McGuire run decoy close to line, McCullough throws behind cut out pass to Wallace, Gillett/Thaiday run decoy wide out, Wallace throws behind cut out pass to Norman, Norman then either runs himself, quick pass to Reed/Hodges or cut out to winger (there used to be grubber kick in there but it's disappeared over the years for some reason)
(If we don't score) Fifth tackle - Wallace bombs it.

This is the entire game plan.

i get the feeling that tonight we'll see those glimpses of good footy + ball movement that have been so rare over the last two years. like the first 20 mins v the doggies late last year. the forwards will be hunting in pairs. the backs will get deep.

we'll go point for minute for 18 or so mins til we get tired and "Broncos Autopilot" engages and the tigers steam roll us to go to the break leading and its just a shitfight from then on. guys like simona and nofoluma will appear untouchable breaking tackles left right and centre and the palms of all broncos fans will be firmly pressed into our faces. tigers after starting poorly run out winners 28-22. to top it all off benji marshall is named man of hte match.

however if the dream comes true we'll be able to maintain the attitude and application shown in the first 18 minutes for the majority of the match. a 65-70 min performance and run out eventual winners 28-10. ben hannant puts in a stellar performance to take out man of hte match honours, special mention to lachlan maranta who grabs a double and did not put a single foot on the touch line all game.

The sad part is that most of those scenarios are quite possible. Hopefully we'll go with noisetheory's dream!

P.S. No offense @subsligh, but I had to laugh at the guy with the Karobi toe! :loool:
