Of promise. Hot take I know because he was quite woeful with his hands, and abhorrent with his defence, but he just showed a bit of what he is capable of.

Reminds me of the way a young Copley use to **** everything up.

Two things stand out for me.

1. We are literally the worst team in the comp and I mean the worst there isn’t a team in the history of the NRL that is as bad at getting the ball back from a line drop out; and

2. We literally are incapable of capitalising on any half break we make. The one and only half break during the game and the next tackle the ball hits the ground twice from dog shit passes.

It’s honestly astounding how we’ve gotten here.
The pinnacle was the offseason coming off the prem, believing Haas was part of the future AND nabbing Pezet.
Now Haas is gone, the team is garbage and Pezet looks like a pumpkin.
God I love being a Bronx fan

Paix is another selection that has become an automatic head scratcher. He is Turpin tier.

Reynolds drifting sideways aimlessly after a linebreak and running the team out of options into Duffy getting immediately tackled and dropping the ball in the ptb and the stupidest challenge really sums up our season

That game I just watched then was spoon tier for sure. Embarrassingly bad, I don't care if it's injuries or Qcup. Absolutely terrible performance

You just have to care that it’s injuries and QCup. It is a huuuuge part of our downfall. I’d be surprised if we played our full strength side this year.

Verhoven was mostly decent in defence I thought but learned a lesson on the physicality of the NRL.
Is he capable of taking that punishment every game?
He has the talent but that will only take you so far if he isn't made of tge right stuff.

Always though Arthur's was useless TBH. No hate on the guy but he is extremely average, wouldn't stand out in a Qcup game

Jesse Arthur’s had a Clive Churchill performance in the first half of the 23 GF. He is no mugg, but has definitely fallen off the clip

When was the last game we named our best 17 players? Round 1? From that moment we have had 4 or 5 starting players missing each week. This week we ended with a backline that consisted of 1 of our starting 7 backs on the field.

“Aside from the injuries” like it’s completely peripheral to the success or failure of a team to be missing huge chunks of a roster.

There was a fair bit more in that post. Injuries are always going to affect performance but shouldn't to the point there is absolutely no structure and the regular players forget how to tackle and hold a ball.

You can't say with a straight face that any of Reynolds, Paix, Bunt, Talty, Mam are performing to their ability.

The only regulars who can hold their heads up are Willison and Karapani.

BWalters has been missing all year so we have not fielded our first choice 17 once.

Have we heard a ref yell “submit” once whilst in defence this season? Even when a fullback falls in a tackle we still have to get off them quicker than a hiccup. Once again, just weird.
