I could be misremembering but I swear things weren't this bad even in the losses right before the bye, especially in defense (bar a few players). Our biggest issues were generally discipline/errors/penalties/6 agains, etc. The scorelines from the Roosters, Manly, and Warriors games look bad but imo it was less poor defense and more the opposition having a mountain of possession and we were bound to crack eventually. Honestly, those scorelines could've easily been worse if not for our defense.
Apparently, one of the refs came to give advice some time over the bye period to help us fix up those issues and, in this era of all attack no defense, I wonder if specific feedback has been given to the players or changes have been made at training or something, that's led to our defense falling off a cliff as much as it has now post-bye. I don't know if there's something to this; it's probably not the whole picture if so but it might be something. I'm at a bit of a loss tbh
