Round 15 - Broncos vs Dragons - Build Up Thread

Hala has impressed in most of the game time I've seen him play. Which is more than I can say for Norman, Copley and Beale (not including playing at 1 recently). But their talked up to be the greatest football players to ever where a Broncos jersey by some on these forums.

I like Hala but it's very premature to make any promises to him yet. Glad he's coming off the bench and was very impressed with his performance today but the question is whether he's willing to build on it.

As for the other young ins...

Beale - Best performance he's put in the centres in first grade. If he can build on it he could prove to be more than just fullback in centres clothing.

Copley - Less impressive but didn't look too out of sorts today I thought. Watching him in the 20's I know he's capable of more and if he can have a big offseason I can see him becoming a good centre down the line. Just needs to improve his d and get his hands on the ball more.

Norman - Must have the best boot on him at the club - some of those kicks were amazing today. Made a good break and did well to support Reed to send Beale over. Defence and some silly fifth play options are holding him back but the potential is there. He just needs to find some consistensy.

Macca - Thought he was good for us today, crisp service, took a lot of good options and gave us another kicking game. The kid has talent, just needs to fine tune his game. I believe the move by Baptiste has put the heat on him and it's getting the best out of him.

Baptiste - Speak of the devil. Y'know he's got it nice and easy coming on when everybody is getting tired but he's putting it all on the line and he's making a difference everytime he comes on. Hopefully we can retain him, I can see him and Macca becoming a good 1-2 combo down the line before one or the other moves on.

Lui - When he first came on I was just gritting my teeth as he looked absolutely hopeless in defence...but as time went on he began to remind me of the young Civoniceiva I watched the other day on a Foxsports replay.

That match against the Raiders from the 1998 season? I watched it as well. 8-)

How good was it? Heartbreaking that we lost but dayum was it not entertaining? That try that won Canberra the game was fantastic - Vanikolo was such a beast! Then Locky nearly won us the game ahh! Memories. Wish there was some way I could get that whole season on tape.

Provided all his players pull through Origin II unscathed, Brisbane coach Anthony Griffin is poised to end his policy of not asking them to back up after representative duty.

That's from a CM article... Interesting.

I think big Dodds will also prove to be a great prospect up front.

True! I had forgotten Dodds. He's been playing solidly this year and is definitely a prospect.

Rather have Reed at center.

I imagine there is some cover for Origin players on the bench in case they don't back up.

Is that official? If so, it's officially gay.

I'm happy to say Beale has been excellent this season, but he doesn't deserve to push ahead of Reed. Hells bells I'd even consider Reed on the wing with Beale in the centres on the left so they can chop and change as required. Copley go back to 20s.

Though I'm not expecting Hodges to play to be honest.

Also not expecting Thaiday or Lockyer to back up. I reckon it'll more likely end up:

1. Hoffman
2. Copley
3. Beale
14. Reed
5. Yow Yeh
19. Norman
7. Wallace
8. Hannant
9. McCullough
10. Anderson
11. Glenn
15. Lui
13. Parker

16. Dodds
17. Hala
18. Kenny
20. Baptiste

That's the official team according to broncos.com.au

Hodges <3
Seriously Beale wing, Reed centre, Copley left right out. Reed is too good to be a bench player!

Please put reed back in the centers. Play Beale on the wing with copley dropping out if the team.

remember how we beat the dragons last year. yeah. well we can do it again!

We can. Dragons have been going into a bit of a dip in form lately (not including last weekend's loss to Titans which is all due to origin absentees). They are certainly beatable.

However, will our attack be good enough to beat their defence if we don't have Lockyer and Thaiday out there?

****! that is such a shitty godamn fucking team. does Griffin not see how good Reed is and how really shitty Copley is? **** this.

Lol you drama queen

Will reserve judgement until the final team is named.

We can do this :)
Have a little faith in Griffin and his selections, he knows what he's doing.
