PRE-GAME Round 15 - Broncos vs Dragons

Have the Broncos ever been out of finals contention before the last round of a season before? Here we are just past halfway and absolutely no chance whatsoever.
I’m pretty sure last round of 2013 was a dead game for us making the finals but your point stands, this is uncharted territory.

Glenn must be shaping up for a return, he'll help with the rotations and should give the Broncos some options close to the line.

I'd consider calling in his best mate Kahu as well. He's not a popular on the boards, but he was always a good competitive player on the wing who knew how to finish. I'd like to think he'd appreciate the opportunity to end his career on the right note and get some offers from Rugby.

I'd also switch Herbie to the other wing. His biggest strength is his work-rate bringing the ball out of trouble and I just think he's a better overall option than Kennar who's been OK as a back-up.

That would see Arthars shift into the left centre position where I thought he was looking very promising in the trials. For me he was the obvious choice there before the coach threw Darius in there who was nowhere near as comfortable.

Any other year and Croft would have a spell. He just looks shot and he clearly isn't comfortable on that left edge, I don't know why the Broncos have thrown him in that role when he's spent the better part of his career on the right. From what I've seen of Gamble, he's a far more composed player and in these dire times might be the player who can help dig this club out of this hole. I don't think the stint at hooker did him any justice what so ever, so I'd give him a bigger role.

I wouldn't have brought in Cory Paix for the Raiders game so I'm not overly disappointed with his performance. It's happened and while he had a very mixed performance, I'd try and let him grow from it. Personally I'd let Luke start this game and bring Paix in with the idea to get out of dummy half and try to get Fifita running off of him with Dearden in support. I think that's the money play right there for the Broncos.

I can't see the forwards changing too much. I'd keep Riki in place of Kennedy with clear instructions to go as hard as you can for 15 minutes and we'll pull you off.

Riki was having a crack when he came on. I'd definitely persist for a few games.

We cant sink any lower now. We're winning this one.

It doesn't matter who is put out with these coaches in charge. They have to get rid of all coaches now and even let Glenn take over. This is the definition of untenable and it is making the already deep problems worse every week the coaching cancer is still around the club.

The team is out of contention and all of Milford, Lodge, Turpin, Coates, Glenn, TPJ, Oates, Niu, Isaako, Palasia, SOS are gone. Croft can't be picked again. Staggs can't continue at centre, he is horrible defensively. So who cares but run this out:

1. Arthars (Mixed bag but first game back)
2. Kennar (I have been really impressed, he is certainly not bad to have depth moving forward)
3. Fifita (Look I have no idea here but Staggs can't stay at centre in defense)
4. Farnworth (That right side defense is horrible, I don't know what to do here)
5. Boyd (Rubbish but let him play out his career, he is as much responsible for this rubbish as anyone else)
6. Staggs (This is his future position and you just can't pick him at centre any longer, he can't defend there)
7. Dearden (He is the future, he is the now)
8. Haas (Keep him here but PLEASE play him less minutes)
9. Luke (He can't come off the bench, he is useless there but Paix isn't ready for 80 yet)
10. Flegler (Those hands are just horrible at the worst of times but he is looking a lot better lately)
11. Riki (He looked alright and there isn't much else available)
12. Teo (He is looking better and better)
13. Carrigan (He always puts in but he can't play 80, he's a 60 minute player at present)

14. Paix (I am interested in making him the starting 9 moving forward but not yet)
15. Joffa (Eh he was better this week but coming from such a low base, it isn't hard)
16. Bullemor (Give him game time, let him learn)
17. Kennedy (Who the heck knows, he can't play longer than 20 minutes but what do you expect when that is all he gets week in, week out)

go as hard as you can for 15 minutes and we'll pull you off.

Round up the 92 grand final team. They'd be more competitive than the pathetic bunch we have currently parading around in Broncos jerseys pretending to be NRL players.

never 6 rounds out. Gee we cop it on Fox though. They love the fallwn Broncos. Bulldogs and Manly and Cowbiys are all headline worthy failures but we dominate every tabloid discussion. Yes we are having a bad run but we arent alone
