Grand Final rematch kicks us off...err...NSW and everybody else off on Friday night. Yeah, this is one of those occasions where I curse being a Broncos fan because as a neutral this holds way more appeal and our game really should be a Saturday night affair. Regardless, should be a good game and a good test for the Sea Eagles who are still without Glenn Stewart and Anthony Watmough. I still think they'll have too much class around the paddock and may catch the Roosters out on the fringes as they tend to lift for these games but it's going to be a very important game in terms of where both teams finish up on the ladder.

Broncos vs Cronulla will be interesting in so much that by rights, Brisbane should win comfortably but too much has been made about the Sharks crap form that they should be able to lift and at least scare the Broncos who are missing some key personnel themselves. We shall see but it's definitely a different game compared to the last two outings where the Sharks have basically been able to name a near full strength side and take advantage of Origin.

Similar deal with Canberra v Tigers. Tigers should win, but the Raiders have to win eventually.

Poor old North Queensland can't take a trick this season. Finally get themselves back on track and Origin really knocked them off course again. I think Souths should be too strong.

Warriors v Panthers is the other big game I'm interested. Now this will be a real test for the Panthers, they've sort of been coasting these past few weeks, winning the big moments but generally getting beaten in other departments. Warriors are pretty unrelenting and in NZ, it's going to be a good test for both sides. I hope the Warriors win, but I'm kind of leaning towards the Panthers.

Eels v Knights should be a decent game actually. Will be interesting to see what the win does for the Knights, at times they've just been playing that slump style of football where they find ways to lose the game where as Parra remind me of a side that may have peaked too early. Lots of promising signs but just don't know if they have the legs. By rights, they should win but I can see the Knights pushing them.

Then we have the big after the hooter rematch between the Dragons/Storm. The 4th grand final replay of the weekend. Dragons have sort of come out of their 'absolutely hopeless' phase and settled into their mediocre phase while I think the Storm may have been awoken when they took down the Titans. I'd like to think they'll continue on their way here with a win as Jesse Bromwich just rips and tears while the rest work off the back of his lead.

Stuart is as bad as Bennett. No Cornish once again. Bennett still at it too, naming his pack of Dad's Army.

We're due a golden point game too. Just the first game between the Storm and Manly that has gone to extra time this year. In the 11.5 years we've had golden point, only once have we had a season with less than 5 golden point games. Reckon Knights v Eels and Tigers v Raiders will both go close.

Knights looked much better last week with Gidley at Halfback, surprisingly. I think the Panthers bubble will bust soon and I think the Warriors probably played well enough last week to get home in that one.

some scandal supposedly breaking tonight about NRL players caught betting on games ...

Thanks for the heads up Bull Shark but could you help us out and link to a source next time? Don't want to get this site into any trouble!

Ominous. I don't have Fox but will stay tuned.

In other news, what a game between Manly and Roosters. Second half was electric.

Baptiste debuting for the Raiders tonight. Big papa also back.

NSW game was déjà vu. Wests Tigers up 26-4 with 15 to go. End up losing to Mounties 30-26.

Allwood is a massive liability on the wing. Allwood? More like Allrocks.

Poor old James Tedesco man.

Kid just can't catch a break.

What's the go with the Tigers socks? I get the Men in League thing but some are just wearing random socks. Anasta has Rabbitohs socks on by the looks.

The socks are to pay homage to their junior clubs.

You know, we lament the fact that we have Hoffman running around in the #6, but watching the Raiders always makes me feel a little bit better, because no matter how bad Hoffman is, it could be worse - we could have McCrone.

I thought Baptiste had a decent debut, gave them some nice spark out of dummy half.

I'd swap Hoffman for McCrone in a heartbeat. He put in two good kicks for Lee at the end of that game that created a half chance.

Hoffman had all the support runners and space in the world and threw it over the sideline.

He did do that. But McCrone is another level of plodder all together.

The Cowboys. How can a team be so bad away but so good at home?
