Round 16 Discussion

Fifita is suspended for game 3 unless he fights the charge and win. I think that's completely overkill. It was a safe tackle, just a quarter of a second late. That's not even worth a fine.

David Fifita is only facing a 1 game ban according to NRL.com
 
Watching big league wrap and the entire panel is basically saying the rule changes suck and the blowouts are killing the game.

The media pressure is there, so hopefully some of these Vlandys inspired rules can be reversed and be can be booted out.

Yet Bennett in his post match conference criticised media for bleating on about the rules being the cause instead categorically stating it was the toxic environment at a lot of clubs that caused players not to perform and so a game ended in a blowout.

He must of forgotten that the Rabbits have had, at least from my memory, 2 blowouts against them this year yet in none of those pressers did he blame the toxic environment at his club!

I gotta ask how the hell Val Holmes get's off with just a fine for his crusher tackle on Ponga. it's one of the worst ones we've seen all season ...

the only reason i can come up with is the NRL think QLD will be worse if Holmes plays game 3

Considering that he got away with a blatant shoulder charge to the head of Manly's Haumole Olakau'atu (while he was scoring) in the game after Origin 1 ... your last line there suddenly seems plausible.
