POST GAME [Round 17, 2026] - Broncos vs Roosters

I have to admit, I was expecting a little more out of Walsh than what we got tonight. He landed some quality kicks finding the turf trying to get us downfield somehow, but attacking wise not much that he went for paid off and he still seems to be very nervous under the bomb.

Remember back to rd 4 when we dominated the Fins...
Play them now we'd lose by 30.
Never would I have imagined the season would flip so aggresively after that.

Staggs been very average the last couple of outings you expect more from the premiership/ausNSW origin centre.
What did hunt do? Reece did the majority of the kicking, I’d run with Ezra and Duffy.
I wanted to see more from Mozer. Giving away a penalty when we needed points inside their 20 with 5mins to go, just isn’t good enough.
We have 5 hookers at the club. The wraps have been around for years, come out and show us why you should be our first choice, give the club no choice.
Honestly has been terrible this year and apart from 2025 cant remember him ever having outstanding campaigns as a whole.
Yes he comes up with the odd “wildman” game… but has been terrible with his hands often, I honestly wanted to keep Herbie/Cobbo over Staggs
(The origin version of Cobbo ofc 😂)

Also… to really nitpick… I still blame him for the 2023 GF critta try… if critta doesnt score, we win IMHO

anywaysssssssd

Which ****ing idiot let Te Kura **** off overseas mid season to chase a stupid nfl dream fully well knowing we would be needing forward backups during the origin period

Yeah but I'm just trying to think atm whats best for the team. Rogers offers a running game at 5/8th and Duffy a better organiser and frankly given where we are now then for next season I'd like to see options tried out for variations in the halves. Hunt seems too safe IMO.

But meh we all know what we shall see.
Another reason too I think those two would relish the opportunity and the more players with that sort of desire the better atm.

Changes are needed
1 Perham.. we need to sign a fullback. Walsh needs his hands on the ball and can’t catch bombs and his positioning sucks.
2 Karapani is killing it
3 Staggs.. simplify his role so he doesn’t have to think.
4 Anderson. He’s in it up to his ears
5 Coates. Why not? Metres and catching, simple role.
6 Walsh. Creative, busy, big boot. He’s a six.
7 Duffy, effort and long kicking.
8 Carrigan. We have enough creativity, we don’t need a ball playing lock.
9 Mozer. Best service at the club. Gets us on the front foot better than Paix ever could.
10 Haas. Get him some white shoes and tell him the opposition is a female cop who wants to stand on them. Might find some aggression then?
11 Piakura, whatever.
12 Riki, whatever. Sign some second rowers you cowards
13 Tupou Francis. Give him 30 and move Willison to lock if needed.

14 Mam. Spark, 20 minutes if needed.
15 Willison, you’ll get plenty of minutes out of him at lock
16 talty.. whatever sign a prop who doesn’t look like an Instagram model you cowards
17 Horne. Who gives a ****. Sign some second rowers you cowards.

I understand your point but under the modern rules, he would be a penalty magnet.

Better effort tonight but couldn't get a call go our way all night. I'm starting to wonder about Madge and his tactics using Haas, our most damaging ball runner as a mid field link man. I get it near the try line where Haas would attract 2-3 defenders but in the middle of the field is just a waste.

Offloads killed us tonight and is on the back of our soft defence. Twice Walker got caught in the line and possibly the smallest guy in the game stays on his feet. When I played any 7 unfortunate enough to get caught by a forward was at a minimum back slammed in the tackle.

We need to hit in defence so that the opposition isn't looking to offload every second tackle. We also obviously aren't going to get any 50/50 calls from the refs so our completion rate with the ball has to be much better than it is at the moment.

Arthurs being let go is a positive for the club. Same as Goski, tries hard but is too slow and soft for the NRL.

On the positive side, we put in a better effort, we didn't miss Reynolds limping off mid game with yet another injury and Duffy looks to be going ok in fact better than Mam has looked all year.

Mozer's service from dummy half was a breath of fresh air after the slow predictable stuff we see from Paix.

Oh and in case I forgot Goski isn't anywhere near first grade level.

And yet, it’s not an excuse for the broncos, but is for every single other team including Penrith who were missing less than we were when they also lost to the titans.
The media were writing the rorters season off last year after one bloke (swalker) went down and making excuses for them on a weekly basis

He has no hope of being able to handle vlandys ball. he would have been completely found out if he played

There was an instant pick up in speed when Mozer came on, delivery was crisp & fast, markers were engaged, players were actually running onto the ball. It’s chalk and cheese with paix, who is an absolute paperweight and if Madge persists with him then he deserves what he gets. I don’t understand how paix is still there, it’s as obvious as gos being a qcup bench player. Work ethic is great, but you also have to be able to actually play footy.
