I don't think it was as clear cut as you guys do. He was in the motion of passing it but from the replay it's not clear it actually left his hands before Cleary made contact. I think it probably did, but it's not one of those obvious ones where the ball rockets out the back after making contact with the defender.
It left his hands, and the bunker even said that. Yet they forgot what a knock on was and ruled it wrong.

Two tries to Penrith were sublime kicking from Cleary. I think most teams would struggle to defend them. The try where Dearden missed Luai was poor defence but we were committed tonight.

If we don't get a penalty to get out of our own end, we are fucked. Our backs are absolute pop guns when bringing the ball off our own line. It's a massive problem and we need a plan to fix it.

Also, another example where Fifita was thoroughly outplayed by someone who would be lucky to be on $300k. Fifita was again disappointing tonight.

Give us a good fb, some effort in defence and some FITNESS! We got something something for next year.

Dynamic runner, he always reminds me of Alan Cann, got a nice right foot step, and super strong. He played on both sides for Norths. He can prove a handful if you're attacking your line and can get him a bit of space. Suited to the edge.

Cann never ran that far.

I'm pretty sure they didn't say it left his hands. I think they said he started the passing motion or some shit like that. He didn't sound confident at all, which of course adds to the frustration when they rule against us.

I am not certain but the only way I can explain it is the Bunker somehow got confused and thought Penrith challenged for some reason.

I liked that we didn’t let in any soft tries on the line. Their tries were from kicks mostly and that one try on the wing. It’s not nothing.

The coach had them in one circle at half time.

Both our halves can pass and tackle some what.

There’s something there to work on next year with some depth returned.

A proper fullback that tries in defence would be good. You know that when you’re defending in the line is directing traffic and looking to diffuse gnarly grabbers from the opposing halfback. 🙄

We need to run onto the ball more.

We need a kicking game.
