Kemp will never play nrl again.

Probably. As much as we'd like to remember his 2008 form as fondly as possible, it's more than likely was just a fluke, just a little purple patch. You'd think he'd show more in the lower grades if he really was as gun as people remember him to be.

Against any side, momentum is everything, both ways. Quick play the balls and, seriously quick defensive line speed. Smith's time to direct play must be reduced, Cronk pressured on every kick.

Well he was on the receiving end of a backline of Lockyer-Hunt-Hodges but what I loved was he always backed himself to find the line.

Watching QCup highlights he hasn't lost any of his speed and that's something we could use.

If we play like we did against the Warriors last sunday there is a chance we can pull of an upset. Melbourne are without Widdop for an extended period and a few of their players are carrying injuries and are down on for. The return of Cameron Smith will definetly give them a boost as he is the best player in the world imo and they usually play a lot better when he is there.

Not only do we need to attack well, we also need to defend well. No lazy markers or Smith will carve us to shreds - and lazy markers is something we're pretty bad at. A defensive effort like against the Warriors and we're well in this. Attack like that game as well - and you never know.

I won't have my hopes up, but it's a game there for the taking if we want it badly enough.

And just for the record - I WANT IT BADLY ENOUGH!!!

The way I see it, we've already lost this and the Sharks game. If the boys can prove me wrong, then it's a bonus to them and it's a win I'm going to celebrate as if we just won a finals game because it truly is do or die from this point.

If this team doesn't know what they have to do by now against the Storm and don't do it, it will be incredibly disappointing

They must know the impact of Smith and they must know what to do to minimize his impact. Same with Slater, etc etc

Hopefully, the form lift so far will carry on and we will do what we know, clearly know, what is necessary. Otherwise serious questions have to be asked if we don't do what we know we have to at this stage of the season, and given our experiences playing against Bellamy's boys

Interesting to read Glenn has said they had a splintered playing group. I certainly thought this may be correct and believe a lot of you guys thought the same especially after Hodges had to get them to celebrate a try against the Tigers.
He says they have fixed the problem but it may not be as easy as he says

If you read it properly, it says that there was nothing off-field, more that they were acting as units on the field and not as a cohesive team. You can see that in the fluidity of their attack and urgency in defence.

These things always occur when a team is struggling, if they continue to lose, then things will get much worse. If they end up doing what everyone is expecting (missing the playoffs) then many heads will roll. This is the Broncos, not some surburban Sydney club where losing is part of their culture. This side will be vastly different next year with not only the coach being handed his pink slip but a few of the playing staff as well. They will be a top 4 contender next year and may even win it all in 2015. Like Paul Keating has said of the Broncos ""this is the season we had to have.""

What cliques?

Norman (*crickets*) ...

The rest of the playing group?

norman seems to be best buds with all of the young guys in the group.

i think it is more younger guys and older guys are a bit "divided". not saying they hate each or anything.. just havent been a single team unit. i think it shows on the fields. at time it seems like theres two sets of groups on the field at once that dont really communicate well.

I can't agree about Brisbane being a Top 4 contender in 2014, unless something massive changes starting ASAP.

As obvious as it is to some, I think Corey Norman's signing with the Eels in April has been the spark for the tinder box. A tinder box fed by the hasty signing of Prince in the off-season.

The club has persisted with Norman, really at the expense of Hunt and Hoffman and potentially Beale, only for him to consistently fail and then tell them to shove it. Norman's disloyalty to the team is rewarded with a lock on the 1 jersey whereas Hoffman and Hunt can barely break into the starting side.

I can see why that would breed resentment.

Hook needs to make some bold moves (possibly at the expense of his own head). Prince might yield 1 or 2 more wins this year than an alternative selection, but at what price?

Prince is not the future of the Broncos. The Broncos will not win a premiership with Wallace at 7 without Lockyer (or Thurston or Cooper Cronk or another superstar) at 6. These things are axiomatic. Period.

If you want to see improvement, you need to give responsibility and ownership to the young guys. They are ready. Hook's given Norman 2 years of untouchability, why not give Hunt the same chance?

Cameron Smith is the best player in the world you say? And the storm play better when he's playing? Itstl.

It's like any other workplace. Sure there is civility, and professionalism and the occasional Friday afternoon drink but beyond that the players don't respect each other and aren't best mates.

A bit like the NSW State of Origin team. All "matesy" and false jokes for the cameras but really full of egotistical wankers (Pearce, Tamou, Fifita, Bird, Gallen, Ferguson, Dugan) that hate each other.

We need more Mick Deveres, Shane Webckes and Petero Civonecevas. Not Corey Norman, Ben Barba or Josh Dugans.

You are right but if one of the last 3 was a team player then you take him.
I also think Glenn is ready to lead this side but the older guys may not be ready for it

anyone else as blind as me and starting to believe we can win friday? haha
