anyone else as blind as me and starting to believe we can win friday? haha

I think we can but whether will is another matter. Finch is a real weakness in their side. Their attack will be disjointed so if we can defend well I think we can put enough points on to win. That said Slater and Smith always tend to carve us up the arseholes.

We just need the forwards to target Slater and we can send him into his shell, it's not an easy task but Slater can be rattled with big hits and that takes him out of it.

I always have. All we need is to move up fast in a line, cut down Smith's time to direct plays and pressure Cronk's kicks and keep the discipline for 80

Easy

I can't agree about Brisbane being a Top 4 contender in 2014, unless something massive changes starting ASAP.

As obvious as it is to some, I think Corey Norman's signing with the Eels in April has been the spark for the tinder box. A tinder box fed by the hasty signing of Prince in the off-season.

The club has persisted with Norman, really at the expense of Hunt and Hoffman and potentially Beale, only for him to consistently fail and then tell them to shove it. Norman's disloyalty to the team is rewarded with a lock on the 1 jersey whereas Hoffman and Hunt can barely break into the starting side.

I can see why that would breed resentment.

Hook needs to make some bold moves (possibly at the expense of his own head). Prince might yield 1 or 2 more wins this year than an alternative selection, but at what price?

Prince is not the future of the Broncos. The Broncos will not win a premiership with Wallace at 7 without Lockyer (or Thurston or Cooper Cronk or another superstar) at 6. These things are axiomatic. Period.

If you want to see improvement, you need to give responsibility and ownership to the young guys. They are ready. Hook's given Norman 2 years of untouchability, why not give Hunt the same chance?

Reading the Rumour Mills and the supposed "done deals" we will have Barba, Tasi 1 & 2, Shillington and Benji.

And with faith in Hook, there's the premiership in the bag in '14

I also think Glenn is ready to lead this side but the older guys may not be ready for it

Spot on, Splinter. If Glenn was a year or two older I reckon he would've been captain. I like that he tends to lift his game when he is the skipper.

I love this club but geez they're making it hard for me.

Does anyone rate Brett Finch by any chance?. He isn't a bad player to have in your team when he is in form and he has his moments but I've never really rated him that much.

Rules when the Broncos play the Storm:
1. If Cameron Smith is NOT playing, the Broncos win.
2. If the game is a Grand Final, the Broncos win.
3. For all other circumstances, the Storm win.

He is just another ""Wallace"" except he sports a shit eating grin, need someone more dynamic.

Broncos halves look to up the ante - NRL.com

"Wallace said he and Prince had spoken to each other recently about improving their on-field communication in order to avoid any unnecessary confusion. While Prince has brought some much-needed experience to the Broncos this season, the fact that both he and Wallace are seasoned campaigners proved more of a hindrance than a help during the early rounds as they struggled to fit into their exact roles.

“The main thing for us recently has been speaking to each other a bit more before we direct a set or tell the team what we’re going to do. We’ve been really trying to communicate with each other and go from there,” Wallace said. “The last few weeks have been a lot better. We’re starting to understand each other and know how each other plays, so it’s feeling a lot more comfortable. Hopefully we can build on that now.”

You know what I want to see? More hitting Glenn in the opp 20 instead of always passing to bloody Norman. He was our top try scorer last season, he's a great hole runner and the opposition has figured Norman out weeks ago.

Thanks Prince & Wallace, I mean it's round 17 but whatever.

Not sure what it's supposed to mean anyway. It's all up to the dummy half - pass left for Wallace, pass right for Prince.

Since 2006, we have beaten the Storm twice. A tight win in the early rounds of 2009 and once in 2010, with the Storm playing for no points. That record is disgraceful. Another concerning point is they have beaten us over the years easily and pretty comprehensively. It feels like they've never been able to put behind them the disappointment of '06 and want to bury us every chance they get. We got close to them in the last few years and I would be happy with another performance like that. They are a better side than us but not a 40 point better side.

We have seldom played the cheats at full strength though. The last time I remember us doing so was a game that is not to be spoken about ever again...

The win in 2009 was off a Gorrell knock-on, remember it clear as day everyone just stood there waiting for the ref to call it after he bobbled it from dummy half and somehow the ref gave it lol.

Are you suggesting we wouldn't have won without that one call vertigo?

I remember that night pretty clearly as well as it was the first and only time I'd won a double. Suddenly Billy scoring one of the softest tries I've seen wasn't so bad.
