Round 18 - Broncos vs. Sharks - Post Match Discussion

Macca had one of his best games of the Season last night. Also, Hunt showed enough that if he's given a decent run in the halves he could really be something.

The wooden spoon will go down to the Eels or Dragons, even in a slump we are easily better than both of them.

Yes but at least the Dragons have recruited well for next year, their fans have something to look forward to irrespective of where they finish this year. Unfortunately I can't say the same for us.

The Eels have also cleared out their deadwood for next year and have a coach who is willing to dump players who aren't playing to NRL standard, again, the same can't be said about our club.

So whether we come dead last or 9th it doesn't matter at all as it's going to be the same as next year. At least if we get the wooden spoon the club will lose enough money and memberships to finally sack its management.

We've won 6 premiership in the last 25 years guys, we're the best club there is. You cant complain, we were the best once so we're the best now. </sarcasm>

also like to point out that Carney is another that *some* of us wanted the club to chase when he got deregistered. We'd be in an infinitely better position right now if we had, might've even had another premiership from the last few years if we did. He was outstanding last night, stood up when his team needed him like the real superstar players do. Wallaces legs don't work anymore cause he's never used them to stand up.

We will beat both the Eels and Dragons on the ladder next year.
Watch the Titans downhill slide, you cannot buy a premiership

seems to work for souths
They haven't won it yet
Besides I don't believe Souths have had complete clean out. Their buying players have happened over a few seasons and if you go through their team many are juniors

Yes, but apart from Adam Reynolds, who of their key players is a junior?

Isaac Luke and John Sutton? Chris McQueen if he counts too.

The best signing they ever made isn't any of the players, it's Michael Maguire. He's getting the best out of players just like Bellamy does. Inglis and Reynolds will always perform, but Chris McQueen used to be an 8 bacon and egg mcmuffin man.

Not only that, he is getting the best out of the likes of Tyrell, Sutton (who has never been consistent before last season), Merritt, Goodwin, Walker, and the list goes on.

Souths have done a very good job in building a project over many years, it's easy to say they are 'buying' a premiership, but what club (other than us, with our lack of recruitment) isn't trying to?

Carney? At the Broncos? No way. He wasn't a virgin. Or a choir boy. Or both. I forget the relevant clause in the contract ....

You guys are making out Souths are buying a premiership but their roster has been evolving over quite a period of years. How many of eir current squad did they sign for this year. Maybe two.
inglis and Burgess have been there for years now

We don't need too much change to our squad to be very competitive but unfortunately they are key positions and not available.

Dude. The Rabbits became competitive when Russell Crowe came along and bought the competition. Not just the club, you're naive if you think his money only went into the club. He's got ridiculous influence in the ARLC, media etc.

Guaranteed within 5 years there'll be a Storm-like scandal related to his underhanded dealings.
