Then you end up with MORE demerit points! It's just like the American legal system; convince your client to take a plea bargain because if they lose (even if they are innocent) the conviction will be many times harsher. Especially if you are a Bronco.

This is the thing common sense should tell you a player has not deliberately done something, ala Riki last night. He knew he got Cleary in an awkward position and as soon as he did, he released. Why should a guy get suspended for that?

Paix and Hopoate charged for the dangerous throw ... both free to play with an early guilty
Riki charged for the crusher .. misses a game with an early guilty plea; misses 2 games if he fights and loses
edit: I'm not sure about Hopoate. broncos.com.au says he can avoid suspension with an early guilty plea ... NRL.com says he is facing a 1 week suspension irrespective of whether he takes the early or contests the charge
