This week will be an interesting test for Kevvie. Up until now he's followed this pattern:

1. Teams loses, fans and commentators identify a weak link.
2. Reporters arrive on same page as fans and commentators. Chicken lays egg. Egg becomes chicken. Ad infinitum.
3. Walters plays down said weak link. Says "yeah" a thousand times.
4. Team list Tuesday. Weak link is shuffled out, or sometimes named and dropped later in the week.
5. That's usually a half. And it's not the first time he's been scapegoated.
6. Commentators mock Walters for switching halves yet again.

Right now fans and commentators are calling out the "left edge defence" and "leadership." The captain is under pressure.

Will Walters have the nuts to drop the captain or merely shuffle the halves and wing again?

Pretty simple solution in Kevvies books. Drop Oates and Croft for Coates and Milford.

He'll drop Gamble.

If we can fix our defence we have points in us, Penrith looked a bit clunky without Cleary today maybe we can keep it close if we sort our issues.
We looked a bit clunky without him as well.

funnily enough, we'll probably perform much better against the Panthers ... we tend to struggle against teams we should beat and are competitive against better teams (Melbourne being the exception)
my thoughts too. we'll lose after a gritty 60mins wherein we keep pace with them.

then someone will do something stupid, we'll concede a try, and the game will get away from us.

There's another win in there somewhere probably against the equally as pathetic Cowboys. Slight chance against the Warriors as well. Won't beat Newc ×2 especially if Ponga and Pearce are playing. Won't beat Penrith nor the Roosters. Doubt if we can topple Cronulla again. With a bit of luck, the Broncos could finish 6-18.
Roosters haven't been that good and we do usually go alright against them.

Probably. Everyone is up Brodie today. FWIW, I like Brodie, but agree he might be part of the problem. He tries hard, but like everyone in our backline seems to lack some critical skills.

I'm not as convinced replacing him is part of the solution though. Gun to my head, though, sure give Kelly another shot. Whatever.

Kelly has been heaps better than Croft . Croft has always been shocking in defence and not that good in attack.

Worth a shot, anyway. We could use a new halves combo. Or we could audition Staggs. Heck, why not?

I think we seen yesterday why they want Staggs in there at 5/8, he's probably our most damaging ball runner when attacking the line and he barely got any ball
