I guess sticky is emphasising defence this week, that's the only reason I can see Kurt getting the #7 ahead of McGroan or Borenish

Surely it's just a smokescreen?

Not only is Baptiste a poor choice, they've turned one of their strengths into a weakness. When I watch Canberra at their best, it's watching them play up-tempo with their dummy halves asking questions around dummy half. By selecting Baptiste at half, they've gone back to the dark days of McCrone and Buttriss coming off the bench.

This Barba 'comeback' maybe real. If so, it'd be a huge plus for the game. Imagine Barba, Holmes and Bird all in form at the same time? Could make for some great match ups on the run home.

Barba comeback.....?

Thought he was still fighting for a spot on Cronulla's bench, a sure indication that NRL obscurity is just around the corner.

Hard to say, he certainly looks to have trimmed down a bit. Having to fight for a spot for the first time in a long time could also be just the thing to bring him out of his hole.

Ricky has lost the plot.

Ricky has never been able to coach halves. Austin's doing so well because I assume Ricky just goes "ummm... run a lot and score tries". Playing Baptiste is not that far removed from playing a back-rower in the halves, which we know is his pet "thinking man's" ploy. And if it is a smokescreen, I can see him sitting in front of his fireplace at home, smug smile on his face, admiring his own genius.

I was of the same mind-set when it was raised on NRL 360 but his form has been pretty good for the past month or so and the Raiders are looking like lambs to the slaughter. Say he takes it up another notch and has a blinder against his old club...(forget about Brisbane, I'm sure most of us have or at least want to) he's back in the game.

It's probably a media beat up but it does add an interesting element to a game that I think is struggling for intrigue. Which sucks because 9th vs 10th on the eve of the finals should be a bigger game.

I don't really rate Cornish, but **** me if he isn't a better option than Baptiste.

6. Austin
7. Hodgson
9. Baptiste

...is how it will line up surely.

*swirls whiskey*

"The think I'm playing baptists in the halves, ha! I can't wait to see their faces when wunderkind Josh McCrone runs out in the 7. Muahahaha"

Hoffman still in the 6??? Are all coaches that coach him now that stupid? Did they learn nothing from the Griffin era?

Also, for the Dragons, is that Justin Hunt from the old Raiders days or am I thinking of someone else?

You're thinking of Justin Carney

1. Waqa

It's Sticky...

6. Soliola
7. Austin

He'd kill for Tony Williams right now.
