I didn't feel like Haas played a bad game but at the same time he was the best against a bunch of flogs, we were dominated.

This game definetly exposed something I didn't really look at with Madges game plan in round 1, we lack basically any Set Plays, Walsh was sitting in the middle basically most of the game which makes no sense to me in a game we are losing the middle battle, to me that seems like a coaching issue, but I'm not going to absolve blame from walsh because he fucked everything he touched when he did get involved.

I dont think either of our starting props were poor tbh, but they didnt manage to turn the tide either which you would expect them to be capable of. The other middles didnt stand up either and the less said about our back row the better.

As somebody else said, we need some genuine mongrel in this pack. Even our best forwards dont have that hard edge to them. Its why i laugh when i see them get compared to some of our greats like Webcke and Civoneciva. These guys might make more meters than those two, but that just lack what the likes of those two guys had. Saying that, i'm sure if we went back and watched every game they played they would have had times where it didnt work for them.

No matter who the coach is, they can’t instill some mongrel or some cheat plays.

Giving away too much yardage is sinister.

No point giving out excuses but we lacked the enthusiasm from the get go.

Raiders came in with energy, foul plays & plenty of forward passes.

Not at all impressed by the use of interchanges. Maguire is mimicking Kevvies use of interchanges.

Our 2 starting back rowers have gone missing or played dumb.

Walsh has so much learning to do. He just can’t rely on his speed every time he touches the footy. Silly & dumb plays must be eradicated.

Too much nice guys going on, Canberra won from the mentality they started with and built from that, We have better forwards I think for a round by round basis, but they targeted this game like it was a GF and we got folded.

It looks like Madge is trying to turn Haas into a bit more of a mongrel player, but that sort of transformation takes time, especially with a guy like Haas who historically has been a teddy bear with powerful legs.

100%

I’d like to think this is a result of a lot of guys being without power all week from the cyclone or something. The goldy boys were off. Started flat and loooed underdone.

Surely Walsh doesn’t play half as bad as that ever again. He has the year to prove he isn’t going to be Milford 2.

I liked Kobe’s intensity at running straight and fast.

Surely there’s some backrower floating around cup/super league better than our guys.

Cobbo looks like he’s enjoying footy again. Love to see it.

This was the Ben hunt I didnt want us signing.

He doesn't have that in him unless he's around female cops.

As much as we would all love him to become this enforcer we need, we need to stop trying to make him into something he isnt now. I dont think you can teach aggression like that, you arent going to turn him into Gorden Tallis just by saying play with more aggression. Its not likes hes a kid anymore.

Just leave him to develop what he's good at and find another solution.

Pathetic

Any sign of resistance and we wilt.

Half the team is still cooked mentally, and Reynolds is not the guy to dig us out of this, because he's one of them.

I agree, while he’s not responsible for tonight’s loss I never thought he was going to get us out of our funk either.

Raiders were the better side and deserved to win. We were awful.

That said, that Starling try ... am i blind or what ? How can the bunker get that wrong ? That was at a key stage of the game being 16-10. Starling pretty clearly touched the ball, it ricocheted off a Raider in an offside position, back to Starling.
I think bunker completely missed the ricochet back off Starling, or off the other Raider's foot. Pretty inexcusable. Bunker has been atrocious so far this year in multiple games.
Just way too many errors in the game.
Walsh probably with half of them but the 2 early in yardage were crucial.
Canberra played a power game and took advantage of all the territory and possession we gave them.
Wake up call for the team and definitely some ball drills coming up.
However, if Mariner was 5 cm closer on the first bounce and Willison caught that ball we would have won....

Agreed. Jensen offers nothing off the bench.
Jenson didn't offer impact from the bench. he didn't do anything wrong, but I think his value is in soaking up pressure from the opening with his no frills, tradesmen effort. Carrigan to the bench? I think Hetherington trying to split the ruck works, but we need momentum.

Again, the Raiders played out of their skins. They can't do that week in, week out.

I would much prefer to go back to Heatherington to the bench with Jensen and Carrigan starting.

If we didn’t sign Ben hunt we have Billy Walters at 6

I hope it's just that, and a lack of training @1910 can you confirm?

Trying to look on the bright side, Round 2 has been a hell of an anomaly so far. The only teams that have gone 2 from 2 so far are Newcastle, Souths and Canberra, and the forever kissed on the dick Round 2 bye for Melbourne......Not exactly the top of the table you would have expected to see this time last week. At this rate the Titans will down the Dogs as well.
