We are the biggest club in the nrl and have no back row depth? Jack gos… he is not nrl quality, and as for Riki… he had a 99 percent chance to make it 18-0… all the space in the world and he tried to burrow over and drops the ball? How honestly f** shit can you be? He then gives a penalty away and parra score

- the boys the last 2 weeks don’t look connected what so ever
- Reynolds has got to pack it in, his kicking game again is not with it, yes he actually played alright, but in defence too he is just so slow and always looks like he is struggling with niggles
- look errors are going to happen, but to leak 40 points at home to a side who scored 1 try last weekend is disgusting… you need to defend your errors
- did Staggs get dumped by his Mrs or something? Last 2 weeks have been horrible, doesn’t even look like passing the ball to Mariner, discipline is at an all time low he is having far too many brain snaps

we were really kissed on the dick last year... no teams were playing well, such a low quality season and we hit a purple patch at just the right time. If kevvie can be fired a season after being 5 mins away from winning a premiership i dont see why madge cant

Our bench let us down this game. I am not reading too much into these first few games, Madge did the same thing last year where he seemingly front loaded the team with hard training and eased off as the season progressed.

Also I am getting off the Aublix hype train at the next station.

But , but , but he shaped up to Leniu and Whyte .

Cooked take but I think the group don’t like Reynolds and never have. We play far more connected when he’s not there and there’s a big difference in body language
Interesting. I wouldn't call it not liking him though. I'd say they respect him heaps, but just that no one has had the guts to tap him on the shoulder, yet.
Unless maybe possibly carrigan did once

We've started the season in similar fashion to what I expected. We look like a team who have just broken a 19 year premiership drought in almost unbelievable fashion. And on the back of that massive high we're in a serious hangover. Combined with the disrupted pre season i think we'll continue this form for a few weeks yet. They look like a team playing with no pressure now they've won one and the urgency is gone

I also wouldn't be suprised if we are being flogged on the training paddock still. Building fitness now knowing it will benefit us at the back end of season.

While im not too concerned, our second row depth is worrying. We miss Piakura more then many people realise. That guy is a genuine footballer. In Reynolds defence and to a lesser extent hunt, they've both been aging and slowing down the last 18 months and it was probably masked a little in the last 6 weeks of last year by a red hot team wide form streak.

There may eventually need to be some tough decisions around how we play our footy based on Reyno and Hunt slowing down. I know we don't want to become a one man team but I think we need Walsh's hands on the ball even more with respect to kicking, general play and even getting into first receiver and second receiver more.

I think they'll eventually get sick of losing games and things will click and what is likely to be a slow first 5 rounds will be forgotten come the back end of thr season.

Did anyone catch Pezet’s comments on 9 after the game? It was really refreshing to hear a player talk about how brutal the six agains are and the lack of accountability around awarding them.
Interestingly, Thaiday’s other on field interviews are on the NRL app but not Pezet’s 🤔

The other factor that I think is important is that we struggled badly when the six again travesty was in full flow and now it’s back again. It might not get better for us.

You don’t want to be the most penalised team in this version of the game and we are…comfortably. Unless there’s a rule change back to what it should be, we might be in for a tough season unless Maguire comes out and does what the club never does and questions the refereeing to guarantee a better whistle the following week.

I've been thinking for a while that Mam just isn't up to it and i believed this long before the driving incident. We might see the odd flash of skill but to me to seems he's uninterested, half a second slower that everyone else and sometimes scared.

It sometimes feels like we put up with him because he's getting paid so much. I think its time we got rid of him before he does more damage. His passing this year has been terrible.

Was it me or did we not have markers a number of times tonight? Felt like Smith ran through gaping holes at the play the ball because our players were laying down ....
Nah you're right. Our wrestling sucks right now. Opposition consistently falls on their front on every run, and we are just letting them get a quick ptb. We're getting killed in the middle, but I think a big part of it is the outside backs not doing their part (mostly Shiba and Mariner) and expecting the big lads to get us out of our half

Gordie is that you?.

Seriously let it go brother.

Actually, it was only after you banged that drum all last year, hoping you'd be right, that we came good.
So maybe double it up

I have never seen a player as bad as Gos.

It's really something. Every single tackle he goes into as the ball carrier, there's a 50% chance he gets absolutely folded.

Every tackle he goes into as the defender, there's a 50% chance he completely fails to make the tackle.

And in both of those scenarios, there's a 50% chance he gets knocked out in the process of that failure.

The Barnett signing is really convenient timing, he embodies the type of hard-nosed, gritty, mongrel that this pack has absolutely none of currently.

This.

It's no wonder suddenly Melbourne and Penrith are immediately rolling again.

It's going to be 2020-2024 all over again.
