Although Parra lost they would be pleased with the effort, they looked a lot more enthusiastic and played with a lot of commitment. Thought that was a top game Eels V Dogs matches are great when both teams turn up. Ricky's making a difference.

Yeah, but in Dogs defence, they were without their two best players, Barba and Graham, and also without Pritchard and Kasiano.

Offensively that definitely blunted them Alec, Barba alone contributes so much to the attack. When he comes back, I can see the Dogs going up a gear.

Their defence is impressing me though.

Storm are just a class above.

Years upon years of success* has given Bellamy and his senior players the confidence they need to handle any given situation and they invariably finish the better team more often than not.

Cowboys are on the brink of becoming a very good team but still haven't quite lived up to their potential. Plenty of improvement left in them and I'd hate to be playing them next week but they've got a long way to go before they earn the wraps they've been given.

The only thing that's gonna stop the Storm during the regular season is injuries, they picked up a couple tonight but it doesn't matter as long as their spine is intact.

It's just scary how they've put on 32 points against a top 8 contender at their home ground, which is more than what they put on against a bottom 8 contender in Melbourne.
