Round 2 Discussion

**** the Storm! **** the Roosters! Go the tigs! (Until round 3)

Looking at next week, I think this win is great for the broncos and very very bad for the cowboys

So do we expect the media to do 300 stories on how the Storm need to improve and their forwards are this and that and their halves are so and so and their chances of making the 8 are in a spiral.

Jesse Bromwich, regarded as one of the best front rowers in the game and didn't even crack 100 metres.

Or their poor halfback recruitment. Invested in croft. Losing this game proves he will forever be a bad halfback, there is no going back now. They turned down the chance to sign the near 90% winning ratio halfback kodi "the winner" nikorima, a.k.a the next Stacey jones (as he's kiwi and short).... (note sarcasm everyone, I'm not dumb enough to judge a young player after one game, especially when they have won so many before just like kod.... do I need to mention him?)

Milford turned them down too remember.

Benji Marshall at full time before he did his post-game interview on the field could see that Storm were setting up for the guard of honour for Slater, so he called out to his teammates who were taking a lap around the field and told them to go over there and join it.

But the media aren't blowing their loads over that. Because it wasn't Thurston or Smith who did it...

Cleary has a very tough call to make in a few weeks.

Does he stick with Benji Marshall at 5/8 or does he put Josh Reynolds there? Benji's experience and composure has been a major factor in their start to the season. His game management against the Roosters when Brooks got sin-binned was brilliant.

I feel like the Tigers would be better off with Benji in the 5/8 jersey.

Speaking of Slater's 300th. Well we all now know him as the brilliant fullback but does anyone else remember his first few years at fullback where he would have these timid moments where he would not put his body on the line? Like he was scared at times?

Well last night I thought I saw a glimpse of that Billy from the past when the Tigers kick off bounced really awkwardly into the in goal. Billy picked up the loose ball and the Tigers defenders were pretty much at the 10m line already. If he would have run it himself he may have made it into the field of play. Instead he passed it to Kasiano which allowed the Tigers extra time to get into the in goal and smash Kasiano - Kasiano had no chance to make it back into the in goal.

Enjoy that one @Steve-o ?
Oh man, that win was incredibly sweet. The penalty count against us was crazy. Smith would just flail his arms out, and the refs would blow the whistle... so frustrating! Even the video ref seemed to looking for reasons not to give the Brooks try. So good beating those cheats, especially in Melbourne’s for poor old Billy’s 300th. You just know, that despite the storm players talking up the tigers in the media during the week, the were expecting a 13+ win.

If it's the play I'm thinking of, I don't think either had a chance but of the 2, the odds were better with Kasiano. He was at least moving when he took the ball where as Billy would have had a standing start. I get your point though, someone like RTS or Tedesco would have had a crack.

They did everything they could to give the fairy tale. Things they weren't pulling up mid game, they suddenly did. Interpretation and grey area disappeared. 18-8 penalty count to the storm or some shit and about 5 of those were in a space of 5 mins. EAD Melbourne.
