If this weekend goes ahead, it'll be the most surreal weekend of Rugby League since the Super League war, if not ever.

It's going to be very interesting to see how teams handle it, I can see a lot of uncharacteristic performances and I can't see these games being too intense outside of the early exchanges. If one team gets away, it could really fizzle away as both teams just hope for time to expire so they can go home.

This is going to be a weird fucking round.

The crowd adds so much to the game that without it the atmosphere just isn't going to be the same and I really do wonder how long the NRL can keep this up before fans start losing interest.

The advice at the moment is no gatherings of 500 or more. So why don't the Broncos allow 499 of their season ticket holders to attend the game and get them to sit a minimum of a metre and a half away from each other?

They should take the ones who have been members from inception first if they are wondering how to select them.

I sense that would cause an even bigger shit storm that the clubs and the NRL just don't want to deal with.

For example, why should life members be let in first? What makes them more worthy of a ticket? They have been life members but there are a lot of members that have been members for years but couldn't be life members because they were born after the Broncos were accepted and a lot of members that have supported the Broncos their whole life but couldn't be regular members due to financial reasons.

Plus what happens if the whole season is played behind closed doors? Members trying to get their money back wouldn't be able to because of the chance they may be selected to be given a ticket which could give clubs grounds to not refund them.

It will just be a nightmare for clubs on top of what's already nightmare.

It wouldn’t be that hard to figure out. Just do a ballot system. Of course, it’s NRL related, so they’ll find a way to mess it up.

This was just a suggestion, I'm sure there are a hundred other ways to determine who gets to the game. The take away from this was that the club is able to have 500 supporters there so why not have at least a little home advantage and get them spread around teh ground to keep the refs on their toes?

I'm actually a big fan of the idea of a bunch of cut outs or mannequins being spread throughout stadiums with the speakers booming out crowd noise. If nothing else, it will be pure nightmare fuel. Suncorp stadium full of faceless mannequins, staring down at the players...good luck taking a conversion in front of that.

Teams are in.

It seems like a lot of coaches aren't going to bother making any unforced changes. Even Hampton somehow survived.

Lomax lasted a whole week as Dragons fullback, lol

It’s so appropriate that he and Jess Sergis are a couple, both so ridiculously over-rated.

He's Jordan Kahu without the talent.

At least Kahu had the excuse of several major leg injuries slowing him down, Lomax only has a lack of talent.

Best comparison i have heard.

Tonight will be a good barometre for the Cowboys. Canterbury are the type of team that like to get into the arm wrestle and if teams make the mistake of playing side-ways they get eaten alive. If the Cowboys can shrug off the disappointment of last week they should have too much strike, but if they start slowly and allow Lewis to test Hampton constantly they'll find themselves in all sorts.
