POST GAME [Round 20, 2026] - Broncos vs Panthers

Nah I don't buy that. We've had several games this year where we've looked like we couldn't bother. The players have dropped it left, right and centre game in, game out. Yes we got absolutely destroyed by the refs early doors but there were games we should have won if we turned up and just didn't.
The 8 game losing streak was

8 dogs (this was actually a win (a great win) and actually won a penalty count!!)
9 rorters (3 starters missing, but destroyed by the Klown and Gee because we won the penalty count the week before)
10 manly (away in brookie... team didn't turn up, but also ... 6 starters missing)
11 wahs (magic rd and destroyed by the refs again... 5 starters missing)
---Origin 1 and the bye
13 dargs (day game curse, backing up from origin on top of 3 starters missing... should've won, but they didn't turn up)
14 titans (day game curse, Titans GF, players eyeing off Origin II so they didn't turn up, 5 starters missing... Kini knocked it on, but vibes all the way from the bunker)
15 rabbits (away in Shitney and didnt turn up... origin players missing, 7 starters missing total and Reynolds got injured on his first run of the night)
---Second bye post Origin 2
17 rorters (effort was there, but still had 6 starters missing)
18 sharks (origin players missing, 7 starters missing... shit errors that would've been overcome if it wasn't a reserve grade squad playing)

So the losing streak was kicked off because the refs had to rectify the penalty count from the previous week, followed by away to manly with half the starting 13 missing and then refs had to keep the fairytale going at magic round.

Dargs, titans and souths will be losses that the team looks back on as the killers... dargs was post origin 1 and I'd say this is where origin starts to hurt us.

Players love routine, but they've got players coming in and out, origin guys backing up who basically turn up for captain's run and game day, coaches coming in and out, probably physios, doctors, etc. in and out because they're off doing Qld duties. Then you've got guys protecting themselves during games so they're available for selection.

The whole thing just becomes a massive distraction to the actual competition and definitely to Broncos (the old boys talk about it being a distraction)... by the time origin 2 finished the players realised the season was slipping away and the effort finally returned... unfortunately we were still missing half the starting team.

So Arey:

- Throws a bludger attempt at passing near the ground that gets cleaned up by Penrith 10min in.
- Kicks it on the full into the in goal 12min in.
- Kicks Cleary's kick, gives away another set 13 min in (they then score and we lose Piaks defending on the line in that set.)
- 11 to go in the first, blows a set play to the left in the red zone, and kills the play.
- 10 into the second half, holds up the ball and smothers the ball instead of throwing a quick cut out and putting staggs through a hole to score...
- 15 into the second, throws an absolute bludger into the mud to walsh.
- 18 in, runs 7 meters, injured.
- 14 to go - drops a poor pass - more hunt's **** up than his though.
- 12 to go, kills the play, takes tackle and takes an age to get up.

Add in the missed kicks at goal and very little positive impact. Remind me why he's not been tapped on the shoulder to sit out the rest of the year injured?

There was one attacking play where Reece got the shits hard and just dropped out of it. No idea what it was about but it meant something.

The 1st try Walsh over called Reynolds .
Reynolds was waving his hands in the air chucking a tantrum because the ball didn`t go to him .

Far out, it’s been more than 2 fcukin months since I enjoyed a weekend. I’m looking forward for it.

Without thinking too far out, focus on the task, the set, first 5-10min then the 25-20min, then the later 20min to finish off the half to head into halftime. Regroup to plan the same thing but to do better in the 2nd half. Aim for small wins and win them consistently & accurately.

Let’s roll on. This W should give the boys plenty of confidence.

People complaining about the Staggs try.

Idiots.

The people complaining about this one, legitimately saw Edwards boot cross the line and made their mind up. They clearly can't tell the diff between white and pink.
Similar to a previous call with a brown arm and white arm...
Also one was strapped..
At least the call was correct this time.

Even Ch9 were fooled by the white boot.

Gus started bringing up the boot touching the line and Speedy's like "good call Gus". No Speedy, bad call, Staggs was wearing the pink boots.

While you're at it, tune in on Sunday afternoon and watch Tamika Upton destroy the Tigers.
It’ll be midnight my local time and I don’t reckon I’ll be able to watch it live. I’m sure the girls will go 3-0 to start the season and will go on a roll. I shall catchup the game on Sunday morning my time 👍🏼.

Even this.. but they had a at least a few forward passes ..anyway..
Gus is an absolute turkey. No one thought this was forward.

When the try was called, he has a sulk and calls it “off a 2m forward pass”.

Replay is shown, he tries to gaslight us into saying it’s a “1m forward pass”. Everyone awkwardly ignores Gus in commentary.

At the end of the game with the knock on call, Speed says: “Gus, surely the Broncos hang in from here?”.

Awkward silence follows in commentary again as Gus refused to answer, presumably as he’s having a tantrum.

How much do Channel 9 pay this spud?

Poor old piakura and his HIAs. It just reiterates the need for another first grade level second rower.

Wilison is a bloody good second rower, but we lose too much in the middle without him.

If A Rey cares about the team, he retires this week.

That was the worst performance from a captain in a very, very long time. He was ****ing terrible
