Let's keep the momentum going.

Let's see if we can construct a try rather than rely on someone grubbering to themselves...

I'd say the only change is Maranta in for Copley.. Another game we can't afford to lose given our tough run home.

I'm sure that's what it will be.

I know it won't happen, but I'd rather Beale at FB, Hoffman to wing and Maranta or Whitchurch for Copley.

And the way Glenn is playing, and his performance in the centres last night, I reckon that's where he should stay, even when Reed recovers. The thing about Glenn is he is in career best form - his consistency both in attack and defence, and his positional play.

If you know it won't happen why bother suggesting it?? Just ridiculous. Reed is out of form and injured not no good. He was outstanding last year in the centres.

Lots of things people say/suggest on these forums won't happen, but isn't the point of these forums for people to express their opinions and enjoy a good debate?

Reed: yes, he was very good last year, but that was last year. Why bother talking about last year?

I dunno if Reed's average form is entirely his fault. How often do we see our halves pass the ball to our centres? 99% of the time it's either a back rower or Hoffman, who doesn't pass anyway. When Reed comes back, there needs to be more variety, and then we can see if his form doesn't improve.

Why don't we move Wallace to hooker and Gillett to halfback. That way he will get more ball and play the 80 mins. Then maybe put Hoffman in the 6 and Norman at fullback and possibly swap Beale with Thaiday..

That's an absolutely ridiculous suggestion though. rna's had plenty of logic behind it.

And Glenn is the man for centre while we have Copley, Reed and Yow Yeh on the sideline. Especially if he can line up on Idris.

Well for starters RNA said he wanted Glenn to go to the centres permanently and Reed to come off the bench as a backrower. Plus moving Hoffman out of fullback would be ludicrous considering Beale is leaving. Making that move would have to be done with the intention of not playing Hoffman at fullback anymore. If you are going to make silly suggestions be prepared to cop the brunt of criticism and piss taking.

Too many why posters here and not enough why not posters.

Can't we all just get along?

If anyone should be moved to fullback it's Corey Norman. Norman has been good in parts at five-eight this year, and Hoffman is an excellent defensive fullback. But the jury is still very out on Norman as a pivot and Hoffman's progress as an attacking fullback is slow. I'm not saying either should be written off yet, but IMO there's a lot to like about the idea of Norman playing as an attacking fullback with Hoffman attacking on the wing. You'd obviously not move Hoffman from fullback in defence. The Hodges/Berrigan switching in '06 provided a fair bit to us in attack and I do wonder if Norman at fullback could do the same (obviously with Hunt in 6)

I got to say, there were some good signs from Norman last night. Made an effort to get involved straight away and was rewarded. Thanks to Maloney who was just about our best player.

Hoffman is obviously viewed as our best fullback and our long term option so moving him would be a massive back flip for Hook and the club. If we were going to move Hoffman surely Beale would have been given that opportunity. Now he is leaving I just don't see the point. If we can get some depth in our attacking line Norman should be able to do a lot more. I think our problems are based on poor plans and structure as opposed to shit players. We know Hoffman isn't the best ball playing fullback but he can pass so surely we can get him to carry out a basic backline play. I do wonder how much we actually practice these moves at training. Reed is no mug and was outstanding running off Lockyer last year. We just need to get our halves calling the shots and get our team capable of carrying out some basic backline plays when we are attacking.

Flame away, but I would love to see that side take the park. Hoffman needs to be there but isn't smart enough to be at fullback and I have lost all confidence in Hodges ability to contribute.

Please explain using words exactly why this team is such a bad idea.

I'll give it a shot. :p I don't think you really want to drop Hodges from the side. He's always been hot and cold, it's not like he's suddenly degraded. His attack isn't what it used to be, but maybe that's partially our halves fault, just like with Reed. They aren't creating too many opportunities for him.

Norman at fullback...he's set up quite a few tries in his time there, but he was also dropped for a reason. He lacked the other skills needed for a fullback, and wasn't too reliable in defence there. Maybe with a full offseason of practice, but not in the last 1/3rd of the season.
