Mariners yardage carries have stepped up, he doesnt run it harder but he seems to be able to make some good meters with his legspeed and step.

I still just think he is not a very bright boy (trying hard not to use the "r" word admins) and struggles to know what play is on. I'd be going Arthars if hes fit.

He definitely isn’t very bright but I thought he was pretty good last game.

Reynolds is over relied upon for end of sets.

This is a big problem and especially baffling since apart from Reyno we also have Mam, Walsh, Hunt and Walters in the team who have the ability to kick.

Can't think of another team that has as many in-play kicking options as we do... and 3 of them have played 7 at the top level.

missed his assignment with kick to a corner - commentators noted good kick, but where was Mariner

The kicker needs to communicate the kick is coming .
Other wise as a winger you would be hanging back waiting to run onto the pass .
Call for a kick - the winger should be only half a step behind the kicker and accelerating . Needs to be anticipated .

OK ...
The best play is kicking to the right corner . Harder to pass left to right .
Who is stationed on the right edge - Reyno .

When kicking , a chaser coming from the kicking leg side is a lot more of a threat than coming at the supporting leg . That`s why Reynolds stations himself on the right side of the PTB . His body is protecting the ball from a charge down .
Coming on the kicking leg side the chaser can attack the ball and knock the kicker on his arse much more easily .
Making the markers chase from the support leg side is a much more comfortable and safe position to kick from . That`s also why left footers most often kick from the left side of the field .

Mam played on the right all last week. Walsh pops up on both sides on the ball. Hunt and Walters can now kick from dummy half.

Not sure what you're trying to communicate, but thanks for trying?

re Ezra on the right .
And WTF happened ? #9 didn`t know who to pass the ball to .
.
Not the whole game bro and can`t be running plays on the 5th or on the left edge because he needs to be in position to kick ....

Kicking from dummy half needs to be in a fast PTB situ . Other wise the best kickers [the #7s ]would be there on every 6th tackle . Amazing huh ?

How about that for some communication ?

I would prefer the likes of Jensen, Haas be rested against Eels & Rabbits to get themselves right for the backend of the season.

Wish I could say the same about Walshy too but I’ve no trust in Cobbo covering for Reece. We need Walsh to play every game for us to have a shot at top 4 finish.

I tend to agree. I feel like 4th is borderline impossible with the Wah's soft AF draw to finish the season. Cows forward pack is diabolical so maybe if we pick up wins against Parra & Souths, we rest them for that game.

I don't like counting chickens, but happy to play hypotheticals. Best case for us if we can't finish 4th is to finish 5th. Raiders seem to have locked in first and would hammer Wahs in Canberra week one, and if we get through week one we'd play the Wahs in NZ. Not a great trip, but their injury toll is pretty rough.

I don't like the thought of having to play Melbourne of the Bulldogs week 2. Even though we have the wood over the Bulldogs they will be desperate for revenge.

If there was ever a year someone was going to win it from outside the top 4, it's this year.

It's as wide open as it's ever been, with all of the top 4 teams with some serious holes / deficiencies.

I'd love to finish 4th, but agree it looks unlikely, but if we finish 5th I'm still confident in our chances.

Yeah, I concur.
Our 2-3 regular screwups during a season are truly hammering our chances of making into 4.

We could’ve won the games against Wahs in NZ, Rabits & Dragqueens. That’s 6 points and we could’ve locked in a top 4 spot by now.

How sore those NSWRL ****s would be if we’re the 1st team ever to win a premiership outside of 4.

Now, lets assume that we finish on 5 lets see how winning the premiership could play out:

As the ladder stands,
Week 1 - we could end up playing Manly or Sharks in Week1. Personally, I prefer Manly as we can smash them & get our revenge.

Week 2 - Wahs might loose against Canberra & get to host us. Again, we return the serve back for our prior loss against them in NZ.

From Week 3 onwards, I reckon it doesn’t really matter whom we play as the confidence & belief in each other by then would make our guys to take down whoever stand in front of us.

Bottom line, we’re destined to make wonders come October.

Edit: If we finish on 5, do we play looser of 1 & 4 OR 2 & 3?🤔

Have the Warriors actually played anyone of note? It feels like their whole season has been against useless sides.
