PRE-GAME Round 21 - Bulldogs vs Broncos

Now that Glenn is injured & TPJ yet to recover fully from hammies, isn't it a perfect time to bring in Carrigan & Flegler into 17? Love to see them get a chance to pay this season.

We could start with Joffa & Oates(?)/Sims(?) on 2nd row with Thaiday, McGuire & Carrigan/Flegler in front row. We could then have Staggs, Lodge, Mago & Carrigan/Flegler on the bench.

Carrigan is injured and missed last week- named this week debatable if he will play. Flegler is just back from a month off and his minutes are down.

If Bennett had any thoughts of using him in the pack, he would have given him a stint tonight. Staggs is much too small to play there and the notion won't even cross Wayne's mind.

Bennett has done it plenty of times with smaller forwards, Nick Emmett did the role for him.

Apparently Glenn’s scans revealed no break.

Its not tevitas hammy guys it is his groin, he went live on insta and said it after the game

If it's groin problems on top of hamstring problems, this is actually very concerning news. Depending on the severity, these are two of the most lingering, and most difficult to fully overcome injuries.

All the best to him and his medical team.

Another crazy solution to give TPJ a break is give Oates his shot at 2nd row and bring Pearson onto the wing. He's clearly been training with 2nd rower set plays the past two weeks anyway

Did Oates ever state why he prefers to be in the backrow as opposed to being on the wing?

Why would a player go from making 4 or 5 tackles a game, scoring spectacular tries (like the one against the Sharks) and headlining every sports bulletin to slugging it up in the middle of the field making 40 tackles a game.

Surely wingers earn good coin these days.

We seem to have trouble against the Dogs in recent times. This is a match we should win, and win well. I think it's a case of knowing when to grind for a periods time, and when to open up and show some flair. The back end of each half is when we should look to string a few tries together. Can't underestimate the Dogs, but we also can't be afraid to show them what we've got.

Back rowers make a lot more money. That's the only reason he wants to play back row.

If you're going to have a game with Oates in the 2nd row for fun, this would be the one.
