Here's the thing with the short drop out to Oates. He was going to get carried over the sideline if he caught it. They can tackle him in the air too within the rules.

He was no different in ISC. Great ballrunner, solid fullback but no playmaking ability.

Yeah, I always got that impression from him too. Doesn't seems anywhere as good a runner as Tedesco or Holmes either, and far from being a good support player either.
