Yeah what’s going on with Semu? Have they forgotten he’s on their books?
I remember during the pre-season @Morkel told us that the Broncos had gone ultra conservative and weren't planning on blooding any rookies.

The proof is in the pudding. The only player who has been blooded is a 26 year old reserve grade veteran who had to be recruited mid-season. No shade on Talty either, he's been a valuable pick-up and we've all been crying out for another Hosking-level signing.

I just think there's a happy medium between Anthony Griffin and Anthony Seibold. Even Hook would be telling Madge to live a little.

Yeah good points. Given we do have a spot up for grabs next week, if it’s about picking Smoothy or Semu, surely you go Semu, particularly losing so much grunt without Xman and Haas likely half fit.

I have to say despite the opposition that was a good win. We played the game plan for the whole match. First half was about exhausting them, second about demolishing them.

What I enjoyed the most was we actually didn't look like we forced anything. If we started trying to put on a cricket score I bet we wouldn't have made more than 30. The boys just stuck to it and the tries came organically. So you can't be disappointed with that.

Funny how despite the win fox always has something negative to say. Smoothie didn't get a run so the sky is falling in. Why the hell are they so desperate to see our pack undermanned. All of a sudden everyone should be getting a rest. We are fighting for a top four and obviously these pricks know if we get there we are the most dangerous team. F##k em

See, last night would have been the perfect game for Semu.

However I couldn't pick him to play Melbourne in Melbourne. Especially as a debut game. This is a dress rehearsal for the finals and not the type of game you throw an inconsistent rookie into.

That was last night and Madge missed a trick.

I think it's clearly Smoothy vs. J. Hunt and you may as well give Jaiyden the spot.

Madge will make the right call mate he has been doing it consistently all year.

Still not a fan of the Broncos red-zone attack. They live and die on Reece Walsh throwing a forced pass and hoping it sticks. I think they're relying too much on their #9 which isn't working and instead of catching teams out trying to sprint up on Ezra and Walsh, they're just burning tackles.

Especially when they're attacking the middle third and keep going one out, dead centre with the posts acting as two defenders. Get it outside of the posts and get it to your strike players.

With Willison gone they're going to have to adjust. Haas is really the only barge over weapon they have, especially with Te Kura supposedly injured (hard to get confirmation with QCup taking another week off).

I have to say, if ever there was a golden opportunity to blood Va'a Semu last night was it. No Haas, no Te Kura so a 195cm 110kg Prop to get some reps in would have been more valuable than having Smoothy warm the pine.

Semu is injured, limped off last week after 20 minutes.

Who am I kidding? I still would have picked him even if he was on crutches.

The standout last night was that the Broncos didn't try and win by 50. There was a first half attack that stayed with me. Walsh threw a short pass to Rikki which he never does and then got into dummy half made a run which he never does.

I think that's the key to improving the potency of the Broncos attack, using Walsh in different ways not just the one which then means his arcing run long ball has lots of pressure and has to succeed.

Fcking diving on a bloke who has already put the ball down was grubby .
And then giving Ezra a spray he looked like an idiot . IMO .

I liked the way Ezra brushed it off .
It was more what he said after, I'm no lip reader but I thought he said something INSANELY bad...

Also, impressed with how ezra has handled him self emotionally on the field.

Crowd boos him, he shreds you (eg bulldogs)
Players try to rev him, he laughs it off
Players get in his face, he fires up with his defence I've noticed

I liked that too and I think it lead to a try next play

Quite odd to see a few Souths jerseys floating around the Broncos sheds. Should be a 'get out of that rancid dress policy' at the door.

I'll email the club my application for door bitch now.
Bit of a Souths' reunion: Madge, Reyno, Te'o, Shibasaki, Gosiewski...
Meanwhile Bennett, Gray, Arrow, Tass over the other side.
Seibold not invited.
